| Yes, you should choose more nutritious vegetables - they have more carbs, but they are good for you. It is best to try to stick to the 3 cups of higher-carb "salad" & "other" veggies rather than adding more lettuce. Don't forget that you want to get more than 1/2 of your daily carbs from veggies, so if you eat eggs, cheese, cream, etc, you really need to choose different veggies. Hope this helps

| Julie is correct, on this board we follow Dr Atkins instructions as written in DANDR to have up to 3 cups of veggies per day, and that 'most' of our carbohydrates ought to come from our vegetables. This makes it vital to choose the more nutritious (and more 'carby') vegetables from the two lists as much as we can if we also want to use those other foods which make our way of eating so workable like eggs, cheese etc.
