Unhappy Back on the Wagon, Gripping It With My Fingernails!

This is so like me, my entire life...excuses for failures, second tries, and in this case my 8th. I was doing so well in May and had lost about 15 pounds. I figured that it gave me a full year to lose 80 pounds. Not too bad, and doable since I was working out every other day and feeling great. Then I let my partner drag me down. She got stressed and wanted to eat junk food and before I knew it my Chipotle's salad bowl became a borrito bowl, became soft tacos, became the whole burrito with chips and a soda. Then July came and we freaked out and started again, only to be hit with weddings and family events where there were NO Atkins friendly options and we caved hard. And August came and went before we realized it.

So today is September 1st and I've gained 6 pounds back. I have 8 months to the day to lose those 80 pounds and while I'm sure I don't NEED to, we've decided that it is time to kick some butts....our own.

This morning we rose at 4:30am to get ourselves used to waking early. Today we start Induction again and I'm on track so far with a 2 egg white omelette with a little ham and cheese and 2 small sausages. Coffee with a dash of sugar free non-dairy and cinnamon. Lunch is salad with loads of tuna and turkey and a 30 minute walk around the block. Dinner is chicken in an Indian Butter sauce which isn't as bad as it sounds, mushrooms, and I already premade chicken wings and meatballs (yay pork rinds) for when we have the munchies. Tonight, while dinner is cooking we will do our 20 minute aerobic tape and tomorrow morning we hit the elipticals and weight machines! We have a new Workout soundtrack already on our iPods so no excuses!

My mini goal at the moment is to hit a snug size 14 or a loose 16 by November 1st so I can return my wedding dress and get a 14. Then I'll be able to have it taken in to a size 10 by the wedding. I will be content with that. A size 10. Wow! I figure, if each size seems to be about 15 pounds in difference that means I have 8 months to lose 60 pounds. I haven't been a size 10 since....6th grade. (pushing back the depression on that fact)

So glad I'm back! I really miss feeling in control of my weight and my life. Soooo glad to be back in the folds of such a wonderful group of people! Now I'm off to read the success stories for more inspiration.

Hi, Jacqui and welcome back to the fold! You sound well-prepared and very determined; you WILL succeed! Mini-goals are great: Those increments and inches add up, for sure ...and you can't beat the support you find on this board!

Thanks! I know myself well at this point and I know I need community and support and I used to come here a lot for that back in May.

I make herbal teas and sell them online and I just made one to help us lose the weight as well. I didn't want to deal with those others that have those energy boosting drugs in them..I almost went blind from Guarana..so I made a combo of what all the magazines say help you lose more and added some that I use all the time that I know would help, especially with Atkins. Green Tea base (a known anti-oxidant and metabolism booster), Cinnamon (also boosts the metabolism and keeps the heart healthy), Damiana Leaf (helps boost your metabolism, your mood and helps regulate blood sugar), Ginger Root (also aids in boosting the metabolism, helps lower cholesterol, and detoxifies the liver and intestines) and Hibiscus Flowers (a gentle diuretic that also helps stabilize blood pressure) I know it sounds like one but this isn't a sales pitch. We've both decided to drink two cups of this tea a day and if we notice any added benefits we'll let you know! I'm going to be my own success story!

Wow I was just writing in another post about tea. I started drinking tea and it has helped with my weight loss, keeping me full between meals. Plus I am trying to get over bronchitis. Post a link to your website.

Bronchitis is NOT fun!

Sure, I do mostly herbal teas but many of them are so yummy you could drink them any time (Happy Tummy and Noggin Number are the top sellers for that).

The site is www.theomintention.com

Frog's Throat is a great tea for soar or inflammed throats. If you are coughing a lot anything with Wild Yam root, rosehips or hibiscus flowers is great. I've been thinking of making a cough syrup but haven't gotten around to it yet.

If you want to see customer comments you can see them at my original store location which I still operate from as well www.theomintention.etsy.com
