Default Panera's Greek Salad - need help counting the carbs

I went to Panera for lunch and had ½ Greek salad with a medium diet Pepsi (first one since I started Induction) – I must confess that I went into the restaurant decided to have a mushroom Portobello sandwich but luckily they didn’t have it (have they changed the menu?) so I ended ordering a salad, eating half of it and taking the rest home with me. I’m not sure about the carb count. It’s 7 grams according to their website, other websites say 12 grams. Should I have the leftover salad with some chicken tonight or should I leave it for tomorrow?

On a side note, I just saved a bunch of money on Splenda , not really into coffee or anything that needs sweeteners but I’ve read some of you talking about it and I’ve filled one of the pockets of my backpack (yes, I’m too much lol)

Their greek dressing is the only thing I would question. When I go I ask for the dressing on the side and dip the salad into the dressing - I've never used more than 2 Tbsps this way. If you know in advance you'll be going you could take your own dressing and ask them to omit theirs - that way you know what your getting.

I normally order the Chicken Caesar salad when I go - dressing on the side - no croutons. I also get the apple and bring it home to the hubs.

I looked on their nutrition website Panera Bread - Nutrition Calculator and it appears to have 9 net carbs for the Greek Salad.

If you still have half of it left maybe you can work out how much of your 3 cups of veg you already ate to see if you can 'afford' any more veggies tonight.

Well done for only eating half of the salad btw. It suprises me sometimes just how large a restaurant 'serving' can be, and I usually bring leftovers home for another day or for supper the same day.

Carole, I looove their Cesar chicken salad but there’s so much chicken I can have a day without getting sick of it. I had lunch with an ex coworker who’s used to see me eating McDonalds and Wendy’s so she was surprised when she saw me ordering a salad and leaving the dressing aside. I even threw out the piece of bread they give you with the salad. I’m being sooo good LOL

Elizellen, you take leftovers home in the UK? I’m from Spain and I never took anything home. Portions are smaller and it’s kind of awkward to ask for a doggie bag over there. When I first got to the US I was shocked to see people leaving diners and restaurants with their leftovers. Now I’m one of “them crazy Americans” who rarely finishes her plate and takes home the leftovers. Portions here are crazy – sometimes I have lunch and dinner for two additional days.

Sometimes I ask but usually as I always have some kind of plastic bag in my handbag or pocket I just get out the bag and put the food in it! If I have a fridge full of salady stuff at home I just take the meat home and leave the excess salad on the plate.
My husband (who has a small appetite) used to put any meat he wasn't going to eat on my plate for me to finish off before Atkins and now asks if I have a bag to put his 'extra' meat in to take home.
It means I always have 'leftover' meat to make quiches etc with or add to soups.
