I think the question you have to ask yourself is this: Do I want to lose my weight and keep it off or do I just want to lose weight and hope I'll keep it off? If you want to lose weight and keep it off, move to OWL, since you are only 30 pounds to goal, you will be able to go through the carb ladder and give yourself enough time to go through Pre-Maintenance phase. If you want to just lose weight and hope for the best about maintaining it, stay on Induction until your last 5-10 pounds and move to OWL and hope you have learned enough about your body that you will be able to maintain your goal weight for a few months before coming back here and posting an "I'm back!" thread. PS, you shouldn’t be having nausea particularly at this point in the diet. The only time I’ve read a low carb diet causing nausea even after the initial few days was that disasterous Kimkins thing where it was encouraged to keep carbs and calories so low you were "semi nauseous all the time".

You do not have to change your exercise even if you move to OWL, but are you exercising at all now?

| Oh, and since you don't know how much weight you've lost, how did your measurements change? How many inches did you lose?

| I would base how you move forward on your inches lost, and how many pounds you have left to lose. It sounds like its crucial to give yourself enough time in the different phases so that you can get aquainted with a permanent way of eating. Congrats on the results so far!

| @not2late, thanks. I’ll keep what you said in mind when I get to the point where I was 2 days ago. I need to start Induction again. I had to google that Kimkins thing to know what you were talking about LOL No, rest assured that I’m doing everything by the book. My nausea may be PMS or anxiety (I had a work-related test this morning) @georgiana, yes, I’ve seen my doctor before I started and just 2 days ago, I went for blood work and should have the results by tomorrow or Monday. Re exercise, I’m walking “a lot” - around 3 miles a day. @georgiana and @yellowsun_5t5, I’m afraid of the measuring tape. Haven’t used it. I know, I know… I won’t have anything to compare to and won't be able to do a before and after. I just can’t bring myself to do it. |

| Oh yes I went down a couple of dress sizes, can fit in jeans I hadn't gotten into since 2007, and just had the pants of one of my suits taken in in the waist |

![]() Now you need to find another set of too small clothes so you can use them to check your next shrinking progress!! Are you moving to OWL now to ccarry on shrinking while finding out what foods you can eat and continue to shrink as well as discover your CCLL?
