| Check out the Challenges forum, Erin..there's usually a no-weigh challenge going on in there, and if there isn't, you can ask a mod to start one, or start one yourself! :yes You might want to read this as well, about the nature of weight loss http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ic.php?t=63916 I never owned a scale until a year into doing Atkins! I used to go to my doctors office but now that I work 5 mornings a week, I can't pop in before breakfast and be weighed AND get to work on time, so I had to get my own. Out of curiosity I was weighing myself at different times of the day..Holy Fluctuations, Batman! it's all over the place! I've gone to bed at 155 and woken up at 151 and the next day woken up at 153, so go figure. It'll hover up and down for a while then it'll stay down, and that's how it goes. It's just best to set one day a week, or two weeks, and have that as your weigh-in day. |

| Moochiecat...let me start by saying..YOU LOOK FABULOUS!! what an accomplishment! As for me...I get a bit silly sometimes...this weighing this is harder for me to ditch than the High carb food I used to eat! (can you believe that!) I know that once a week is optimum...but I swear I am like an addict...I just can't stay away...but hopefully after day 4 my "weigh in cravings " will subside! LOL Thanks for the support!

| Erin - I know what you mean :yes I probably weigh myself at least twice a day BUT it doesnt upset me to see the scale go up as well as down as Mocchiecat suggested it will. I think of it as merely 'interesting' that I can be 7 pounds different sometimes and don't let it make me change the way I am eating if I know I am following the rules. If you feel it is going to sabotage your 'clean induction' by making you doubt the WOE then do all you can to avoid stepping on the scales until day 15.

| Some folks will weigh in every day, and then divide it by 7 at the end of the week to get an average for the week, which is a clearer idea of what's going on. If you can handle a daily weigh-in, then that's fine...as long as you know that it can fluctuate and be weird sometimes. If you find that it's affecting your moods then that should be an indication that it's not the best thing for you to be doing, right? :yes |

| as long as you don't allow the numbers on that scale to didtate how you feel about yourself or your Atkins there is nothing wrong with using it multiple times a day. BUT if you are going to be a slave to that number and allow it to effect how you feel about you as a person then you need to stay off it. those are the folk I call the scalenumberphobics and the no weight challenge is great for them. Me? I love to see how things effect my mass and jump on the scales all day long seeingwhat my last actions did. HAppy low carbing.

| Good for u !! (on having kids hide the scale) Hubby had to hide mine too because i would get on several times a day and i have noticed on atkins your weight tends to fluctuate rapidly so i didn't want to risk sabotaging myself because of those fluctuations! it tends to depress me easily and i am a total emotional eater, i am taking contol and breaking the bad habits!!! i am on day 5 and feel great on day 3 BEFORE he took my scale i was down 2 lbs!!! |

| Hey Erin, it's all right. Like me, I'm deserperatley looking for a scale since I don't have one (which should be a good one). I say tell your kids to hide it someplace you'd never find it and probably give them like a dollar for their effort. lol But you should notice after a few days having a great burst of energy and your clothes becoming slightly looser. Good luck! :nod |
