| You're in normal weight range and weight is not going to just fall off. Most of us (like me) who is trying to lose the last few pounds find that it takes a lot of patience and a lot time. That being said I would have thought you should have dropped a bit. What kind of diet did you eat before? If you did calorie restriction your body is just taking advantage of the fact that you are eating. Some people actually will put on weight in this situation. And your body is not going to drop weight until it is sure that you are actually going to feed it properly every day. So you may have to be patient here. Also that does not seem like strict induction to me. Strict induction would not be eating a lot of protein and a little salad. Strict induction is to get around 65% of your calories from fat and eat 3 cups of vegetables. And to drink loads of water. Hang in there. Keep going. Try to do it right and see what you think in a week.

| As Liv suggested, with so few pounds to shed, you are not likely to lose much even on a 'strict' induction. I would drop the bars and shakes as they probably contain ingredients that are not allowed on induction and might be sabotaging your efforts.

| Thanks for the advice and reassurance. My menu has consisted of mostly boiled eggs/ egg whites, spinach, and a variety of meats and cheeses. I have limited my veggies to spinach and salad because I'm not yet real familiar wich other veggies contain the fewest carbs. After reading a little more, I am going to try to increase fat%, and eliminate any bars or shakes, and Crystal light and see how that works. thanks for the support! |

| The higher carb veggies are important too, they have a lot more nutrition in them than lettuce. The goal isn't to have as few carbs as possible, it is to keep carbs below a certain level, and then make the best possible use of them. Don't forget that more than half of your daily carbs should come from vegetables, so if you are eating mostly lettuce, you are severely restricting your consumption of eggs, cream, cheese, etc.

| Have you lost inches? I track my body parts measurements once a week, and last week when I only lost 2 lbs, I also lost an inch in several areas. That could be huge. |

Do not do egg whites. You need the fat in the yokes. And the nice thing about Atkins is that you do not need to be familar with veggies, because all of the veggies on the Allowed list are low carb (except water chestnuts, who's existance on that list baffles me.) There's a link in my footer to an intro guide that you might find useful, too - good luck!
