Default Lost 4lbs in First 5 days of intro...

Hey guys,

I am super excited! I lost 4 lbs in my first 5 days of intro...Plus I had crushed a bottle of red wine- a Pino Noir on Saturday night. I have not been exercising, waiting until I stall to re-start a 3-4 day a week program of jogging and body resistance exercises.

My diet has been looking like this:

B- 2 eggs, two turkey sausages, 2 slices of yellow chesse.
L- 8oz Turkey breast and 3 cups of olive oil sautéed broccoli.
D- 8oz Chicken breast, 3 cups of olive oil sautéed veggies (non starch), and 1 big whole cucumber sliced, with 1/2 cup of sour cream with dry ranch dressing.

*4-5 cups of green tea a day
- Lots of water
- Vitamins: C, zinc, biotin, kelp.

Congratulations on your losses so far. You have made a good start on becoming a 'loser'

however, I would suggest a couple of changes to your menu to give your body a better chance.

As you no doubt know from reading up on how to do Atkins, the wine is not 'allowed' till you are at the 5th rung/level of the second phase of Atkins (ongoing weight loss/OWL), and as drinking alcohol will mean your body will use it as a preferred 'fuel' before starting to use the foods you eat it will more than likely interfere with your losses, so just imagine what you could have lost without it

Also Dr Atkins suggested we exercise right from the start rather than wait till later.

I am guessing from your menu that you are working to the new rules put up online recently by the Atkins company rather than the rules in Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution published 2002 (2003 in UK) that we are following here, known for short as DANDR 2002.

From the rules we are following our allowance of veggies from the two lists is up to 2 cups of the 'salad veg' list plus one cup from the 'other list' (which includes broccolli) or up to 3 cups from the 'salad veg' list and none from the 'other list'.

We are allowed to eat up to 20 net carbs of which most should be from the veggies.

Hello,

Thank you so much for your insight I will try to follow the diet better.
I will try to stay away from the wine . I also ran a mile yesterday, as you said that Dr. Atkins stated that we must workout from the beginning.

Thanks again,
Raven
