| Congratulations! Remember though, there is no real level of ketosis ... one color on the strip is no better or worse than any other color. The strips were not intended for use by low carbers ... so the levels have no relevance to us. Any color indicates ketosis ... and here's the rub ... you can be in ketosis and not change the color on the strips! All the strips are showing is that you spilled excess ketones at that moment in time. If the next time you pee on a strip, and you don't change the color ... it doesn't necessarily mean you're "out of" ketosis! Next time ... save the money and buy yourself a steak!

| I don't want to hijack another thread, so I'll reply here to the post you made in this thread: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...d-warning.html (Over 45? Word of Warning) Quote:

| I would like to eat a papaya with lime juice for breakfast for example some day. This is a healthy, low calorie food. And some cashews, and a large salad and maybe 2 cups of quinoa with tomato sauce (no sugar-added). All on the same day. These are all "healthy" foods. I ate like this for many years without gaining weight and now that it's crept up, I'm wondering if I can use Atkin's to lose weight and then go back to my old way of eating - no grains, potatoes or sugar. Very little prepared food. You don't know of a doctor who specializes in Atkins. I live in the New York area. Too bad Atkins is gone. |
