| Carrots are not an Induction vegetable. You need to eat only the vegetables on this list: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...nduction.html# (What foods can be eaten on Induction?) Water mixed with anything is not water. And you need WATER. Have you tried drinking it cold? through a straw? hot? room temperature? Keep working towards getting rid of the "fake sugar water" ... it's not helping you with anything! Are you reading Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution (2002)?

| I am re-reading the DANDR. As far as the water thing if I force myself to drink something I know is going to make me gag. I do not like water. Never had! It doesn't matter if its hot, cold, with ice or without. I have always hated water. I can work in a couple of glasses but the truth is if I force myself in my already fragile state (meaning my psychological relationship with food) than I am going to quit before I even get out of the starting gate. I know myself well enough to know that. Sometimes its progress not perfection and in a day if I can stay within my carb range its a good day, tomorrow I might aim for better but at least I can say today was a good day. I am the type of person that will feel guit and be like screw this its not worth it and eat enough carbs to feed an ethiopian village. But thank you for replying. The carrots I ate were part of a frozen mixed vegetable and was like 3 shavings so I am not really concerned about it. |

| There are shaved carrots in my cole slaw and they are more for looks than anything... I also hate water and drink crystal light exclusively. It may slow down my loss, but I'm still losing, so I'm happy with that. I wouldn't be able to be happy on the diet if I had to suffer with water... Basically, you are not alone... Try your best, and every day it will get easier... |

| Thank you! I managed to force myself to drink 48 oz but it was hard. I know if I am stuck to drinking just water all the time than I won't succeed. I think drinking Kool aid with Splenda a big change from someone downing two 2 liters of regular soda a day or a gallon of juice. I wrote about it on the official atkin's page from the company on facebook and they wrote back saying that they would prefer you to drink water but would rather have a person stay within the carb range then go off all together so that made me feel better. |

| The Atkins company states that the bars are fine for Induction, however they were not developed by Dr Atkins, but by a company that is out to make money. The ingredients include a number of foods that are forbidden in Induction in the Dr's original plan. While you can argue that because the company says they are fine it should be OK, the experience of a great majority of Atkineers using the bars is that they caused them to stall. Plain and simple. If you choose to use them be forwarned they could bring your losses to a halt. Likewise many sweeteners. |

| I use those flavor packets as a reward if I meet my daily water goal. Needless to say, I have not had one in 3 days now. I am having the same problem with water as you. I drink about 3-4 glasses of water each day. About 40 ozs. Anything after that, it seems to make me gag. But I know that's not enough water daily and have been trying to work on that. Well, yesterday, Barrnone told me that she uses a 32 oz water bottle so that she knows to drink at least 3 of those each day at work to make sure she gets in enough water. So, I went to Walmart yesterday and bought a 28 oz water bottle with a straw (for the cigarette habit). I already drink 3-4 glasses per day (12 oz glasses), so if I drink just 3 - 28oz bottles, I will have drank 84 ozs. Already this morning I have drank 56 ozs of water. The good thing is, I will meet my water goal today for the first time since starting Induction. So tonight when I sit down to supper, I will be drinking my raspberry water. I am fooling myself into thinking I am only drinking 3-4 glasses of water. I know it sounds stupid to think of it that way, but it works for me. Just try to fool yourself somehow into drinking more plain water. Be creative and find what works for you. |

| Congratulations for finding a way to get your water in! That's great. My advice: don't use food/drinks as a reward. You've just done a really good thing for your health, by drinking more water. Better health is your true reward!

| For me the water thing is definitely going to be a work in progress. I am proud that I managed to get 48 oz in that is probably literally the most water I had all year. I am working on it and I am proud to say that I am not going to use that as an excuse to quit instead I am saying i know I need to work on that and I will work on it everyday and do the best I am capapble but at least I am following the rules that will determine if I am in ketosis or not.Its not like if you miss on the water you have to start over like if I eat bowl of mash potatoes I would have to start over all again. |
