| Alas, it's not a good idea to follow the two-week plan at the Atkins.com site. It very often doesn't follow the rules of Induction. A great example is the Thai Coconut Soup ... coconut milk isn't an allowed Induction food. The meal planner is a "mix and match" ... so you have to work at it to get it to 20 net carbs with most coming from vegetables. Fish sauce generally has sugar in it, too. >>some of the meals were more than one serving.>> Most "recipes" are based on serving 4. The recipes do list carbs per serving though. >>I then try to manually count the carb, but I was not getting the same carb count as what was stated for that day.>> You would have to show us exactly how you counted your carbs ... Again ... using this might be good for ideas, but you need to be very careful with what's allowed on Induction.

| Geeez... if you can't count on a legit Atkins site then what can you trust!? Well with the example I listed in post 1, it said that the total of the daily meals equaled 18.4n/c. Now if you count each n/c per serving then the total sum of n/c equal to 14.4n/c NOT the advertised 18.4. Now if you take the total n/c for all servings for each meal for that day then it will total 62.4n/c. So how did they come to the total sum of 18.4n/c? SM

| SM, Again, I would have to see how you counted each individual item to see how you arrived at your total. Then I might be able to figure it out.

| It looks like that interface is merely adding up the net carb total for each recipe. It is not subtracting for serving amount. I couldn't say if they really expect you to eat the whole recipe or not. I'd bet the 4 extra grams of carbs are being calculated in for the artificial sweetener in the jello cup.

| No, they don't expect you to eat the WHOLE recipe! That's why there's carb counts for ONE serving.

Atkins Nutritionals is a business, and like most businesses, they are looking more to make a profit than to help people with weight issues. Hence, lots of things get pushed that, according to Dr A's plan, shouldn't be pushed. Always check the ingredients of anything... even those "Atkins" foods (bars, shakes etc.) that claim to be induction friendly. If the ingredients aren't on the induction foods list, then don't eat them.

I told you how I am counting them. OK here is the meal I got right off of the Atkins site. Now we have established that it is not good to follow this even thought the site says that it is a meal option for the induction faze. Now the site is saying that this meal equals 18.4n/c, but as I said, I got 14.4 by counting the n/c for each ONE serving and then got 62.4n/c for counting the n/c for ALL servings. The only one that does not offer nutrition facts is the Jello, however, I pulled up the Surger Free Jello and got them: 0n/c. Here is the daily menu I got from the AD site and use in post one as the example: Meal 1 / Alt option 1 / 18.4 Net Carbs: Cheese Baked Eggs - Net Carbs: 2.4 grams Total Carbs: 2.4 grams Makes: 1 servings Cucumber Salad - Net Carbs: 2 grams Total Carbs: 3 grams Makes: 4 servings Thai Coconut Soup - Net Carbs: 6 grams Total Carbs: 7 grams Makes: 6 (generous 1-cup) servings Sugar Free Jello Cup - No info, but the nutrition list states 0 carbs Garlic Lime Bluefish with Tomato Salad - Net Carbs: 4 grams Total Carbs: 6 grams Makes: 4 servings Now when you count the single serving n/c: Cheese Baked Eggs - 2.4 Cucumber Salad - 2 Thai Coconut Soup - 6 Sugar Free Jello Cup - 0 Garlic Lime Bluefish with Tomato Salad - 4 ========================= Total: single serving n/c - 14.4 NOW The n/c on for all servings: Cheese Baked Eggs - 1 servings x 2.4 = 2.4 Cucumber Salad - 4 servings x 2 = 8 Thai Coconut Soup - 6 servings x 6 = 36 Sugar Free Jello Cup - 1 servings x 0 = 0 Garlic Lime Bluefish with Tomato Salad - 4 servings x 4 = 16 ====================================== Total: all serving n/c - 62.4 I hope you understand what I am talking about now because I don't know any other way to explain it, lol. I just want to know how they got 18.4n/c, that's all SM
