| <<I'm the heaviest I've ever been (besides being pregnant, but I'm almost up there). Help! Advice, please!! >> that's your motivation ![]() my children, my fat *** when i look in the mirror..my buldges...that beautiful skimpy lingerie i want to wear for my gorgeous husband, my high blood pressure, the depression i get when i am eating crap i know i shouldnt be... Im not too hard on myself while im learning...i'm motivated by the eyebrow wax im going to get when i lose 10# total... and the pedicure im going to get when i lose 20# total... and the HOT TUB im putting in my back yard when i reach goal weight!! also in 4 years i am going to celebrate my 10 year anniversary with hubby and i want to renew our vows, so i want to be killer gorgeous and healthy for those pictures. I wake up every day and tell myself...you need to lose this weight and get healthy, or you will be in a grave by the time you reach 40 if you keep going the way you are!!! |

| I stay motivated because I like this way of eating. Also, if you're pregnant, you should NOT be doing any of the weight loss phases of Atkins ... you should absolutely NOT be in ketosis while pregnant or breast-feeding. You can do the maintenance phase ... just stay above 50 net carbs to stay out of ketosis.

| Oh! I'm not pregnant! I'm just up to the weight I got to when I was pregnant. Thanks for the ideas - I'm turning 40 this May, maybe 40 pounds by the time I'm 40! Also, I will use the pedicure/salon rewards as well. I'm always putting that kind of stuff off because I want to save $$ but then end up spending $$ on junky food and then feel like crap. THANKS! |

| WOW Pup, Motivation has never been an issue, just kicking the addiction and not falling back. When those addictive carbs start calling my name, I get MAD ! Mad that they have that much power over me. Mad at where they have gotten me. Then I find the tightest pants I can find, squeeze yourself into them and wear them for 15 minutes or so. Then ask myself if that's how I want to spend my life. Another couple of tricks from a good friend of mine that lost bunches... ~~Remember when you "used" to be able to drop and do (insert #) pushups, or situps, or jog XX number miles, or....(find your own remember when). Vow to not let your weight stop you from doing it again. ~~Put up a Full length mirror and MAKE yourself look in it daily. Note each and every change you see as they happen. (and extra wrinkle that was full of fat last week, etc) Good luck and hope this give you some ideas.

| I have a before picture taken about 4 months before I began Atkins which a friend was kind enough to give me. That is my motivation.
