| i was looking more foward to the dairy than the sugar. im actually over the sugar cravings. im craving tomatoes like crazy right now. brushed with olive oil and spices (non sugar spices) and put under the broiler with a bit of mozzarella cheese....i dont even drink the sweener in the one coffee i have in the morning anymore..and i dont have cream in it either . it feels good actually, because i remember before when i lost a bunch of weight, and didnt give into the chocolate cravings...i started craving the acidic foods, tomatoes and lemons and fresh things like that. it's great!! |

| Hi Tracy, so sorry you have that darn flu!! Do take care of yourself About the cream, I've been doing a bit of quick research just now and found that both Beatrice and Neilson's both contain dextrose. I've fired off emails to both companies, as well as Parmalat Dairy (which owns Beatrice) asking why it's listed as an ingredient. Unfortunately like you, I assumed that because it says pure whipping cream, that's what it was. But...we have been using it since Induction Day 1, and not had a problem losing weight. (We, meaning, my husband, my son and myself) So I guess it's up to you, whether you use it or not Hope you feel better soon Tracy, Suzanne

| J- i never thought to just eat the whipping cream without putting it on something. i'd be fine with that!! jello---to the kids too.. fancy- thanks so much for looking into that. i counted the carb content towards my daily total. I will let you know if i am successful in finding one without dextrose. i bought an aerosol can before of real whipped cream i will have to check those ingredients when i am allowed to venture from the bedroom/house. How much whipping cream are we allowed to have in a day ? i dont see a limit in the book or on the acceptable foods list, but im probably just missing it. i remember reading a post where someone mixed their cream with water to have a glass of "milk"...sounds like something i would be willing to do right about now. |

| >>I guess it's up to you, whether you use it or not>> Actually, it shouldn't be a personal choice! With dextrose (sugar) being that high up in the ingredient list, it's not very Atkins friendly at all! >> How much whipping cream are we allowed to have in a day ? i dont see a limit in the book>> 2-3 Tbs. per day. The limit is in the list of Acceptable Foods for Induction (Chapter 11) ... under Beverages.

| omg, i was reading the cream i am allowed when i typed that and i didnt see it...right there, in black and white. says to note the carbohydrate count too... does normal whipping cream without dextrose have carbs? i am thinking yes based on it being dairy which can convert to sugars...but i've been wrong in my thinking so much this week that i wanted to ask |

| Then Canadians are out of luck I'm afraid. We only have a few brands of whipping cream available, and all of them contain sugar. All of them. I looked at the grocery store today, and there isn't a single brand in either WalMart or the grocery store that doesn't contain sugar. |
