| Welcome! I do hope you're also reading Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, 2002! >>is regular mustard ok for induction>> Yes. Just check the list of ingredients to make sure there's no added sugar. >>is it really ok to have the mock danish?>> They are legal ... though it's possible to do Atkins without ever having one. >> Is SF Jello ok,>> Dr. Atkins says no to aspartame, and there's no nutritional value to jello, so I don't really see what the advantage of eating it is. >> absolutely cannot sleep if I am hungry and meat is just not something I want right before bed.>> A piece of cheese or even some vegetables would be a better choice than jello, imho. >>I have become so addicted to starchy and sweet carbs>> Another good reason not to have the jello.

| Thanks atkinsgal, I appreciate the fast response! The jello isn't a big deal but I may have to have the mock danish a few times. |

| i had the mock danish a couple of times in the first couple of days, but eventually i found as i ate the meats and found better recipes for meals, i havent had a mock danish since, instead i am craving acidic FRESH foods. jello before bed, it's not going to fill you up, so the reason to have it as not wanting to go to bed hungry really isnt a good choice for that purpose. try boiled eggs, or a piece of cheese, or some pickles... i bought pre-boiled eggs from costco when i started this, they were readily available. You shouldnt be hungry on atkins, im stuffed all the time ( a healthy stuffed, not a feel like i just at a turkey stuffed)... maybe try drinking more water too, sometimes when i feel like im hungry i have water, and realize im not hungry anymore. good luck...read your labels for hidden ingredients, not just the nutrional label!!!!! (i learned that the hard way) |

| Thanks, I don't plan on doing the mock danish unless I just have an overwhelming craving for something creamy or "different". I mostly just wanted to know that if I did have it that it was allowed. I suspect having a little cheese will make the danish unneccessary so it shouldn't be a problem. I seriously cannot wait for my jeans to be baggy again and to feel better and feel "fit" again. |

| i think those mock danish's got me through the first couple of days, the creamy cream cheese flavour was more than the sweet flavour when i had mine, so it just settled me down and eased me into the change of eating. Stay pumped!!! i had to give my jeans away this week because they were too big..like way too big!!! im making chicken wings tonight...with my homemade bbq sauce.... yumm.. this board is full of wonderful people with wonderful advice, so take advantage of it. i ask a million questions!! believe me lol.. and im down 6# in less than a week. i dont even have sweetner or cream in my coffee anymore. i dont have a caffeine addiction, so i have no problem having a cup every now and then, some people can't drink it. |

| Thanks, coffee has never bothered me so I am hoping that won't be a problem for me here, either. I don't overdo it....just one or two cups in the mornings, and I usually just have cream in the first cup. I'm definitely sticking to this. Weight gain is not acceptable to me. I refuse to go buy bigger clothes so it's either go naked or lose the weight. LOL |

| I think the mock Danishes are perfectly fine to eat - as long as you are within your cheese and sweetener limit. It is not one of the things I eat - never understood it. I usually make a pumpkin cream cheese concoction if I want something cheese caky like. Make sure you eat proper meals - this may curb your night time nibble lust. So may also drinking your allotment of water for the day. Also if you really are hungry - then yes eat something wholesome. Good luck! Exercise always helps with some toning and shaping |

Oh Wow, the pumpkin and cream cheese sounds awesome! I am really not a big sweet eater, it's just that sometimes I do want different textures, like creamy things. Not often, just every now and then. I am actually pretty savvy about listening to my body and what it needs, losing weight and working out... 15 years ago I lost 135 pounds, went back to school and got an associates degree in nutrition and began working out all the time. I have maintained my weight and have managed to stay really toned ever since then by doing yoga, pilates, walking and lifting weights. Well, up until this past year that is, when I had some stressors in my life that took a huge emotional toll on me. I became depressed, stopped working out and started eating a lot of junk. After I moved and the stress was behind me I had already gained a little bit so when I started going out a lot with friends I just continued to gain more. Part of me just wanted to say screw all the hard work it takes to stay in shape and just go have fun but in reality that is just not me. I LOVE being fit and I love seeing what proper nutrition can do for my body. Therefore, here I am! |
