| If it were me, I would start over, or at least go a week with no cheating. If you get on the scale and see a higher number, that will only discourage you more and make it harder to stick with this diet. But you know yourself better than we do. Do you use the Ketostix? Do you know if you've knocked yourself out of ketosis or not? If you knocked yourself out of ketosis with those cakes, and then the candy bars, then the numbers on the scale are probably not going to be good. If you can go a week without cheating, and THEN step on the scale, you'll probably feel a lot better about all this. You're feeling pretty guilty, bad and stressed right now. Stepping on the scale now will likely make you feel worse.

| My vote is to wait 5-6 more days on a clean induction and then weigh yourself. IF, you get on the scale and see that you have gained, I thing it will help in making you feel even more upset with yourself and trigger another relapse. You are right, you dont want to see that 6lbs disappear, and if you wait it out you might see a few more pounds gone which will be worth waiting for.

| nope this is npt yuor first induction so there is no Atkins reason to get on that scape at all. you already from your first Atkins 14 day induction know your metabolic rate and estimated CCLL number based on weight lost in the 14 days so go read chapter 13 of your DANDR and decide based on your answers which way you want to go. EIther way your 14 days are up and you need to pick a forum to use either the extended induction of the OWL one as your path for your Atkins. We never have to use that scale again if we fon't want to. Make friends with your tapemeasure and se visual proof you are melting off that fat as you become the healthier smaller you. Happy low carbing.

| I have to disagree with everyone thus far . . . I say JUMP on that scale and see what damage a single cheat can cause. I don't want you to be discouraged, at the same time, I think that discouragement can be a good thing. Once you have a clear understanding of just how very important it is NOT to cheat, not even ONCE - you will have a better idea of why there are rules that we MUST follow if we truely want this WOL to work. You know how hard you worked to lose that weight - and I'm sure you were proud that you had gone down 6 pounds - and you SHOULD be. So when you get on the scale, and see that you have undone all of that work, I am hoping that the sight of gained weight will get you motivated to not cheat yourself out of a healthy body and life . . . We have all been there. We all have to learn from our mistakes, put them behind us and move forward. You can do this! You CAN do this! Pick yourself up, dust yourself off . . . and begin again. . . . and again if necessary, until you are READY to continue on the path of health. I know school is coming to an end right now, and exams are nerveracking - I am in the same boat right now. If you think you just won't be able to handle induction without "cheating" on a regular basis, until you get through your exams, then I would suggest that perhaps you stop Atkins until you can really focus on it. The stopping and starting doesn't help to do anything but make you discouraged. You are doing this for YOU. Figure out what you need to do, to change, in order to help yourself succeed . . . and the rest is easy. |
