| I've never bought a membership to Costco because it bugs me that I would have to pay to be a customer. I mean...c'mon. But those are some pretty good savings. Also, there's a Costco in Wilsonville now that's only 15mins drive from where I'm at. Those who have Costco (and etc) memberships...would you say it's worth it? Do you save more than the amount of the membership vs shopping at a regular grocery store? This is an honest question, I'm not being sarcastic at all. Just curious because I'm starting to think I may cave in and buy one.

| We shop at Sam's and if we didn't, there is no telling how much I would spend in a regular grocery store. We buy veggies, meats, bottled water, washing det, dishwasher det, paper towels, toilet tissue, napkins, paper plates, EVERYTHING in bulk! We save tons. I need to check costco out too. :yes

| I used to feel the same way about Costco, BJ's etc. Why should I pay someone to shop and spend money. I got a special deal on membership to Costco through my job and it is soooo worth it! Some deals are better than others...you have to know your prices. I would say 99% of the time you save a bundle!!! Especially on the "staples"...eggs, bacon, cheese etc. I also have a membership at BJ's....they have some different items...better selection of Cat Food for instance...and they take Mfr. coupons too! It's also nice not to have to go to the supermarket every week for the basic items you use every day...saves a lot of time. |

| Wholly cow! I felt the same way, my attitude has always been "why should I have to pay for the privilege of spending my money there" I always looked at it like during the days when video stores sold membership fees. You had to pay them for the privilege of being a customer, I felt it was wrong on every level. But more and more people keep raving about Costco, if that's representative of the kinds of savings you can get - Costco here I come. Peter |

| I've been a member of Costco for a while and the paying to shop there thing used to bug me. That all changed when I bought a winter coat. I wore it for two winters and the zipper broke. I just happened to mention it to a the check out clerk and she said emphatically 'bring it back'. I was like 'you've got to be kidding'. And she said nope THAT is why you pay to shop at Costco. So, I did. They refunded me my money, no questions asked. I bought a really great Cuisineart coffee maker and used it again for two years and it broke. Same deal. Refunded my money with a smile on their faces. If you don't have a receipt, they give you the last price they had in the computer. More than fair I thought. Just something to consider. |

| I agree Costco rocks. I have a corperate membership thu my work. If we buy a certian amout of stuff we get the membership fee refunded, and I have every year Ive been a member. I just went this Thursday. I prefer to buy all my produce at the local farmers marker, as I prefer organic. And as one person household it goes bad before I eat it all. Unless I eat one veggie for a week straight. But the meat there cant be beat. Also, they have amazing rotissire chickens for 4.99. Better than any chicken Ive had that I didnt make myself. If you don't mind butchering it yourself you can save a lot. Like a whole rib eye roast can be had for much less then rib eye steaks. My pork tenderloin was so cheap because I will need to do some trimming and butchering. My list NY Strip Steaks 6.99 a pound. 5 pounds Pork Tenderloin. A whole one. I think its about 9 pounds, and was about $15 Beef Short Ribs! mmm, forget how much but cheap Han's all natural sausage Spinach Feta Sausages. No nitrates, no sugar or preservatives. 1gr carb each $10 for 12 sausages 2 pounds carnitas. I forget what brand, but its really good stuff. Again, no sugar or preservatives. 0 carbs And KETOSTIX!! 14.50 for 100 just go to the Pharmacy and ask for them. I just wish they carried sugar free beef jerky. The only place Ive been able to find it is at Whole Foods and its is pricey!! I have a freezer full of MEAT. Im so happy now!

| The problem with Cosco's or BJ's is you must use it. I no longer buy the memberships because I just don't go. When there was one close I loved it, but just make sure you will use it before buying.
