| You need to check the label on the flavored ones. Some contain sugars. |

| Yup, I checked. Baken-Ets seems to be a completely legit brand. I wish I could find their regular flavor brand, those hot and spicy ones make me want to chug water... not a bad thing I guess, LOL. |

| Ohhh no, that's not what *I* was eating! No siree. I ate the "Hot 'N' Spicy Baken-Ets." They are advertised as zero net carbs, list zero carbs on the nutritional info, and here's the ingredients (from the bag): Fried pork skins, salt, torula yeast, maltodextrin, spices, onion powder, dextrose, MSG, soybean oil, caramel color, artificial colors, garlic powder, and natural flavor. Link: http://www.fritolay.com/fl/flstore/c...rodID_4092.htm Tinyurl: http://tinyurl.com/duvlh It does appear that the BBQ flavored ones are not Atkins-friendly (different than the Hot 'N' Spicy variety). I will stay away from them. |

| You really have to read labels carefully as the ingredients you listed have sugar in them -- maltodextrin is a sugar as is dextrose. I would just be careful about how many you eat but it is best to avoid sugar in any way shape or form however they try to disguise it. They do taste good though and are great for dippers or if you want something really crunchy.

| Hmmm. Good point, I missed the "ose" after Dextrose. What the **** is maltodextrin anyways? OK I found the answer: http://www.abcbodybuilding.com/magazine03/dextrose.htm I'm confused. The nutritional info said "zero carbs, zero sugars"... what the ****? Are the ones I ate legit induction food or not???? Hope I didn't cheat. :no |

| Me too... sigh... I guess I'll just chalk this up to experience and look for pork rinds without dextrose and/or maltodextrin... I still want to know how they can call these 'rinds "zero carb, zero sugar" if they have SUGAR clearly listed in the ingredients. More than just a "big evil corporation" answer. |

| I find the flavored ones a bit salty anyway....I found a great snack if you like nachoes.....I take plain pork rinds, put them on a plate, grate up some mozza cheese, throw that on top of the rinds with a few black olives and melt in the micro for about a minute. They are sooooo good and still keep there crunch so they feel like your having something 'bad'. I'll dip them in a bit of legal salsa and some sour cream. Yum!!!
