Default I Only Have 24 more days!

:yikes In 24 days i will be going backpacking through Europe!! i am excited but REALLY stressed out, cause i wanted to be at my goal weight. i still havent made enough progress to see any results (the only progress is that i havent given up). the more i stress about not getting to my goal (145 lbs) the more i eat something not on the induction list or i have a major binge!
I really want to be sitting on that plane thinking to myself how incredible it feels to be fit and healthy, not to mention self-controlled. fortunatly my self worth DOESNT revolve around my weight and i will still have fun no matter what!
Could someone help with the stress triggered binges... I could possible use an accountability partner for the next 24 days!!! THAT WOULD BE SUPER!!! :icondance
THANX, Michelle

Default free yourself from stress

me'shell my friend, trying to lose a certain amount of weight by a fast deadline is a dysfunctional part of a dieters mentality that can only bring you sorrow. it is a form of self-sabotage.

our bodies deserve a great deal more respect than we have ever given them. this means allowing your body to have the time it needs to make changes based on its own time-table, not the hyped up manipulative clock you impose on it.

if you feel like you need to eat - EAT - but stick to the foods on the approved foods list and you will be fine.

Is this true? Does it have to be true?
Accountability to ourselves for our behavior is just everything.

It is so easy to say, "this makes me binge - that makes me binge" -
But here is the truth - while our high carb addiction can drive us to desire to binge, we still have a choice. We can give in to the addiction and lose our freedom, or we can resist, and have faith that the day will come when it isn't hard anymore. that day will come if your stick to the foods on the approved food list.

oh no a weight loss by date delima You do know it isn't the scale numbers those backpacking friends will se but the heilthier smaller fitter you. So when you stress take a walk that will A) use up the stress hormones in a positive manner
B) burn up cals for you
C) increase your fitness level for your trip in your leg muscles
D) improive your cardio fitness and endurance too.

I stressed for several months that I was not getting to that down on the paper as my gaol weight number but guess what I had added more lean tissues and was at a healthier body fat percent at the number I was at so I was a goalie and didn't even know it for several months.

Don't let an abitrarially picked number determine how you feel about yourself.

Happy low carbing.

I understand how you feel Michelle :hug
But why not set yourself a new goal for the start of your trip?
How about setting a goal of completing a clean induction with exercise every day then starting on the OWL rungs?
I think you are about a week into your 14 days? If so you could continue on induction for another week then move to the Veggie rung of OWL and so by the time you go away you will be able to choose more variety of foods for your trip.

Ya know that actually sounds like a good idea!!! i think i might just set weekly goals for myself that include exercise, induction only foods, and water, that way i gain a bit of confidence each week...plus then it motivates me to keep going and reach another goal! ( if you cant tell i am very goal oriented)
Thanks everyone for the great support!

Hello, I just was reading through this , trying to find out if I have a chance of losing my goal, by the time I leave for Backpacking through europe this summer. I thought it was hillarious to see another person trying to drop that extra weight and make themselves "beach worthy" like I have been. I leave for europe on may 19th and will be there until july 21st. Send me an e-mail if you'd like. Maybe we will be in the same place at the same time, and could grab a coffee.

Paul
