| Oh, my goodness do I ever know what you are going through I have been going through 6 weeks of **** and no weight loss gaining and losing the same 5 pounds and wishing that it would go down. Basically I ahve had to reevaluate my WOE and gave up cream WAAHHH! and cheese and also Caffeine in any form. I have noticed that the scale is starting a downward turn and I hope it keeps up. I have also sttarted to exercise more consistantly again and I thing that is helping. Hey, sometimes you can do everything right and won't lose for a while but, don't give up and do something silly cause a weight loss may be right around the corner that's how I think of it you are doing awesome. 83 pounds WOW Great Job I am going on Month 7 and have lost 63 pounds CHEAT FREE so you are really doing excellent. This is only a hiccup and the weight loss will resume. Sarah

| Before trying something drastic perhaps you could post your usual menus n the 'Review my menu' forum in case someone can help you 'tweak' it. Or, better still, post a link to your fitday account where it will show the figures. It may be that you need to think of moving into OWL and gradually upping your carbs and food choices. Many people post that doing this got their scales moving downwards again. Have you measured? Your body may be readjusting itself.

| Thanks guys. I'm going to stick with it (of course, I never had any doubt about that!) I'm going to cut out the cheese and sour cream, maybe I was getting a bit careless with it! :yikes thanks iyamamaschke for the reality check :hug

| Hi Gal, dont do anything drastic. Fat fasts are pretty drastic! I was just like you - I stalled for 6 weeks, yo-yoing within the same 5lbs over and over again and one day, I just stopped eating cheese AND avocado at the same time and voila! I dropped 3lbs! So my suggestion is to experiment and cut out a food and by elimination work out which food that could be making your stall. If it's not that, then it's your body simply needing the time to adjust to the new weight before allowing you to move on

| While you think you are getting no where, your body is busy making all kinds of adjustments inside and out! Your skin is (hopefully) tightening up, all your organs are getting used to your new weight, they are no longer surrounded by fat, lots of things are happening. I was reading an article about gastric bypass and it said that one of the problems with gastric bypass is that the body doesn't have a chance to "take a time-out" and readjust to the weight loss. That is why so many people that have gastric bypass end up with excess skin hanging off all over and have to have surgery to remove it. So just relax and marvel at what your body is doing right now! Have you read the book Atkins for Life? It is really good and adresses a lot of your concerns.

| I know exactly what you mean. I have lost and gained the same 4 pounds for months now.. But I have to admit that I have been sloppy with my carb counting some days. I am just glad that I have been basically maintaining my weight rather than gaining like I have done so many times before. |

| Our bodies just need to take a break and play catchup sometimes. Just keep eating on plan and be aware of any slip ups. We need to stay focused and patience is a must. We all go thru times that we feel that we aren't making progress, but we are. It may be in losing inches instead of pounds. Have you measured lately? Since Jan 20th I have lost very few pounds (6 pounds). But my body has shrunk in size, so I know I am making progress. I patiently keep focused and eventually I will get to goal. Might take a bit longer than I wanted, but hey, I've lost 94 pounds so far, that's nothing to sneeze at!!! :yes Happy Low carbing |
