Default Too Good to be True?

Now we all know we dont trust the weatherman, but I believe this...

Did anyone see that thing on the news where apparently these foods that are supposed to be "good" on your diet, (supplements) are actually formulated to make you eat more and more??

I have read things about them bringing back cravings, ie... Atkins bars, shakes, protein bars etc. They are doing exactly what they are designed to do......... Bring those nasty cravings back and make you eat even more than before!

I personally have noticed if I eat something "sugar free" even one little lifesaver because of TOM, I will be SO hungry for the rest of the day and eat like a grazing cow!!!

Not to mention, the bathroom becomes your best friend :no

*chuckles* My friend and I were grocery shopping yesterday and noticing all the items that the store places at the ends of the aisles. Almost all of those items they were featuring were sugar-filled crap. We were joking about a sugar conspiracy...maybe only half-heartedly joking!

Guess what I saw in a store over the weekend?

Lollipops fortified with calcium and Vitamins A and D! The package boldly advertised that they were vitamin fortified.

Here's a link to the candy industry announcement.

http://www.candyindustry.com/content...05/04&p=10

Quote:
Chupa Chups fat-free creamy lollipops are fortified with calcium and vitamins D and A, which is good for the eyes and skin, while Chupa Chups fat-free fruit lollipops are flavored with real fruit juice and enriched with vitamin C, which helps the immune system and promotes healthy teeth and gums. The fruit pops come in strawberry, orange, watermelon and cherry and the creamy pops comes in strawberries and cream, choco-vanilla, strawberry yogurt and peach yogurt.
“Those of us in the candy industry are definitely aware that we live in a health-conscious society,” adds Eschhofen. Yet, “people really enjoy eating candy. Candy should never replace a healthy diet, but if (candy manufacturers) can add nutrients – it’s a good thing to do.”
:sarcasm Gee, you wonder how many parents will buy that crap for their kids instead of fresh fruits and vegetables.....

Hey, I totally believe this. Whenever I eat something packaged and "low carb" I want more and more and more... you really need to not eat that stuff, I have learned. It just feeds that old addiction.

*laughs* It's soo sad, isn't it? I had to laugh too at the 'fat free' thing. I mean they've always been that way. They're pretty much just sugar! But it makes it seem like it's a new thing. Buy our fat free suckers! Ah, marketing....

Thats actually half a statement, the part they forgot is that Sugar is an empty calorie. It doesn't have nutrients in it, but your body still needs them to break down this crap. So where does it get it from? Thats right, your body. It steals calcium from your teeth and bones, Vitamins from your skin and organs.

Thats like Boxes of sugary cereal that are, "Part of a complete breakfast". They say, "Now with added vitamins and Minerals". well you wouldn't need to add them if you stayed away from that crap!
