Default OK I'M GOING FOR THE PLUNGE

AFTER WEEKS OF AGONISING OVER THIS BMR THING I'M GONNA GO AND UP MY CALORIES TO MY BMR.

HOWEVER MY BMR IS 2 DIFFERENT VALUESON TW DIFFERENT WEB SITES

AT ONE ITS 2202.1 AT http://www.room42.com

AND 2416 AT http://www.global-fitness.com/BMR_calc.php

I DON'T KNOW WHICH ONE TO FOLLOW.

ANY WAY PLEASE BEFORE I TAKE THE PLUNGE AS I HAVE BEEN EATING AROUND 1700 WITH MODEST RESULTS (9 POUNDS LOST ON INDUCTION IN 2 WEEKS).

JUST A FEW QUESTIONS:

1.CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME IF THEY FOUND EATING THEIR BMR SUCCESSFUL OR IF IT STALLED THEM OR EVEN CAUSED THEM TO GAIN WEIGHT?

2.WHICH BMR SHOULD I BE LOOKING AT? MY STATS ARE 279 POUNDS 5 FEET 8 MALE MODERATE ACTIVITY

3.DOES EATING YOU BMR SPEED UP WEIGHT LOSS IN INDUCTION? (BY THE WAY I'M ON EXTENDED INDUCTION)

4.I KEEP SEEING PEOPLE SAY DON'T WORRY ABOUT CALORIES IN INDUCTION, BUT IF I'M IN STARVATION MODE BECAUSE I'MNOT EATING MY BMR WON'T THIS SLOWMY WEIGHT LOSS?

5.THE REASON FOR THIS LITLE FREAK OUT IS MAINLY BECAUSE I HAVEN'T LOST IN 4 DAYS, I HAVEN'T NOTICED MY CLOTHES GETTING ANY LOOSER IN THE LAST WEEK, COULD THIS BE DUE TO THE FACT THAT I'VE ONLY REALLY STARTED EXERCISING RECENTLY?

PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE 'M AGONISING OVER THIS!!!!!!!!

GUY.

I stalled at specific points (comfort weights) even though I ate approximately the same amount of calories per day during my weight loss period.

2.WHICH BMR SHOULD I BE LOOKING AT? MY STATS ARE 279 POUNDS 5 FEET 8 MALE MODERATE ACTIVITY
You should eat to the level you feel satiated. There is no magic number to reach. Use approximations - 65% fat, 35% protein and 5% carbs. The calories will fall in line. Use fitday to calculate them.

3.DOES EATING YOU BMR SPEED UP WEIGHT LOSS IN INDUCTION? (BY THE WAY I'M ON EXTENDED INDUCTION)
I still don't know what my BMR was/is. I focused on eating to the percentages and only until satiated.

4.I KEEP SEEING PEOPLE SAY DON'T WORRY ABOUT CALORIES IN INDUCTION, BUT IF I'M IN STARVATION MODE BECAUSE I'MNOT EATING MY BMR WON'T THIS SLOWMY WEIGHT LOSS?
You get into starvation mode by being seriously under your BMR number. Eat 3 squares a day with acceptable foods and you do not need to worry about the calories. They will take care of themselves and you'll hit your BMR number or get close to it.

Now the real reason! <grin> When you stall for several weeks/months like some members have then you have a reason for concern - but even extended stalls should not worry anyone. They are normal and usually ended by menu/water/exercise tweaking.

PLEASE GIVE ME SOME ADVICE 'M AGONISING OVER THIS!!!!!!!!

I wish I could tell you that while you are on Atkins you are going to experience weight loss every single day, but that's just not how it works.
Give this a read, if you haven't read it already:
http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ic.php?t=63916
and just keep in mind that sometimes your body pauses in it's weightloss...we all go through it...sometimes it can last for weeks, so best to be prepared mentally for this right from the beginning.

On any diet plan for that matter.

This is one of the reasons the good dr. stressed about not worrying about calories, because they usally take care of themselves, thats what eating until satisfied is all about.

This is also another reason not to weigh everyday.

GUY.
I am the owner of the Basal Metabolism Calculator. I lost my domain room42.com recently due to not receiving the bill on time. I have resurfaced my site as reply42.com

The web site you would be looking for is:
Basal Metabolism Calculator (basal metabolic rate)

Thank you,
