| I agree with Brook...knowing what I can and can't eat. There is a defined list of foods that are acceptable. I know that a cookie will throw me out of ketosis and this way of eating does not work if you are going in and out of ketosis. If I were on a low cal diet or trying to eat in moderation, I could always rationalize things like, "oh, just one piece of candy won't hurt" and before you know it, throughout a day, those "just ones" add up to quite a bit. And on Atkins, I know that "just one piece of candy" will hurt me. I guess what I am saying, is Atkins doesn't allow me to get me in bad situations that cause the downward spiral to binges.

| This WOE has made me nicer. My husband used to give me a hard time about eating carbs anyway. He said it was bad for our marriage, because I'd go on an emotional roller coaster ride. I'm much more even tempered now :yes |

| I am not hungry nor do I feel deprived as I ALWAYS felt on other diets. I used to watch others eat and feel so sorry for myself. Now, I love what I eat and I do not walk around opening cupboards and sighing. I never even go into the kitchen anymore until it is time to eat...then I am happy with the selections I can have.

| 1) Having control (ie having my appetite suppressed by eating!) 2) More energy 3) More hope (that I will continue to lose weight and not be this way forever, because I actually have lost weight) |
