| Any food item has the potential to make an individual stall - and who knows why! Coffee can cause blood sugar instability in some people, which in turn causes cravings. It doesn't bother me, so I never gave it up. ![]() There are folks on this board who have had to cut back on, or cut out cheese because they feel it stalls them. Just remember that a stall is defined as 4 weeks with no weight loss and no loss of inches. The scale may not move, but you could be losing inches. |

| The Caffiene in Coffe causes unstable blood sugars, which effects hunger but also other "mental" aspects. such as brain fogginess. Cheese on the other hand is usally cut out when people fill they have a Yeast problem, which really in my opinion should be the only reason to make them stall, other than it being a dairy, but then again, you will know really quick if its a dairy problem.

| About coffee: are you craving sugar when you drink it? I don't, possibly because I put cream in it, which has fat. About cheese: some people stall. Are you stalling? I never have because of cheese. The way to find out is to cut it out for a few days. If you're progressing on this woe (scale going down or measuring tape differences or both) I wouldn't worry.

| I cannot eat cheese or drink the coffee anymore. I did drink coffee when i first started but when i cut it out i lost more steadily. Cheese on the other hand just makes me stall. Good luck! Happy low carbing! |

| This is my second time around on Atkins (don't ask, just say I was being stupid). The first time I lost about 50lbs and never cut back on my coffee. It has never affected me negatively. Of course everyone is different. If caffeine causes you troubles then cut it out.
