| I also think I really really need to move on...induction foods are starting to bore me so much that sometimes I just dread eating...not so much the eating, but the cooking and all the work...just to eat something that is no longer appealing to me at all. The main reason I am afraid to move on is that I am not as organized as most of you all are, and I just kind of keep count of stuff in my head...and I know for OWL fitday is pretty much a must...and personally I hate the program...it takes me usually 30+ minutes to enter all my foods in for the day and I just find it to be a total pain in the arse. It just makes me feel really obsessive compulsive and I really don't like to do it every day. I guess I need to keep a pen and paper by the fridge to keep track throughout the day or something. This past weekend I haven't CHEATED, but I have had some non induction foods due to being extremely bored/having run out of all foods i can eat except for spinach...i think i pretty much lived on cheese and beans and low carb ice cream this weekend...and knocked myself out of ketosis..so I am going to do 2 weeks of hardcore induction and then move on to OWL.

| Clare, I understand your frustrations with recording the food you eat. I have been using fitday.com for the last 4 months, and now it takes me 2-3 minutes to enter in everything for the day. In the beginning it was tedious, but now I have customized alot of my food, and it is a snap. If you find it easier, just record on a piece of paper. If you are getting bored with your food, move to OWL asap, and you will be able to stay on plan, rather than cheat! Good luck, you've been doing so well, keep the momentum up!!! |

| I think it's time I moved there too. I need to reread DANDR on OWL.

| Fitday is easy. Most people whether we like to admit it or not, tend to eat the same foods over and over, if you go into Custom Foods and enter the information, you only have to enter it once, then add it to your list every day. That's pretty easy, only takes a few minutes.

| Good post, we all should constantly reevaluate our eating. It is much better to allow yourself the freedom of following the rungs rather than have to fight new cravings at goal. One final note about OWL, just because you have moved on doesn't mean you have to alter your eating dramatically. Maybe you just want the freedom to eat 4 or 5 cups of veggies when the mood strikes you. It doesn't have to be an everyday thing. You never know how your body will respond until you try.

| I think I'm going to hang out in Extended Induction a bit longer because I have so much to lose, however I wanted to agree that I hate fitday too. I only use it to find the carbs of my foods that I'm unfamiliar with. I record my foods at www.atkins.com and I just started using the Journal Forum here at ADBB. Good Luck! Punkin-kid

| I was totally afraid to move into OWL too, but the new foods offer a greater variety and let you experiment with what affects you and what doesn't. It is a big step moving away from the security of a regimen, but it is so worth it!

| I'm still not ready. I originally said that at 170 i would on. I'm just not bored yet. I'm comfortable with what i'm eating still. When i do start to get bored though i will make the move. I have 38 more to go so if i'm still comfortable about 150 i will move on which i really will have to at that point. I'm enjoying extended induction and how easy it is. I really dont miss the fruit, milk, nuts etc. It's difficult for me now to eat my 3 cups of veggies right now so i cant imagine having to choke down another cup! Cruiser gal - I'm glad it's really working out for you! |
