Default Water. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate water. There I said it but in order for me to be successful on this diet I must drink it and lots of it. My question is if I squeeze a slice of lemon in my water will it still be the same as plain old water, or will it have a side effect on my weight loss. Iam really desperate.

Hey Ray, don't worry about the lemon, in fact a lot of people love lemon and do just fine. Check your fitday.com for the carb content of the lemons you use daily. I'm having a time too, but Peterlock said that you can put cucumbers in it and its delicious too. I still have to try that one. Good luck to us both in our water consumption.

At first I found it hard to drink so much water, lol but once you realize it's one of the only things you can drink, you'll get used to it

I agree with Reina. I am a diet coke junky, and I find that on days where I drink diet coke, I can barely choke down my minimum 64 oz. of water. But then other days, I can't get enough water and I can gulp down a whole glass and be thirsty for more.

And yes, you're allowed 2-3 tablespoons of lemon juice on induction, so a slice of lemon in your water is fine (and it still counts as water!)

ok I have asked this before but how do you hate water? it has no taste? and is like air you have to have air to live you must breath...water is the same way..just drink out of smaller glasses ..I tell patients that all the time, use a tiny cup instead of a big glass and it is not so overwhelming. then just keep drinking it thinking "do I like air" because water is not about like it is about need!!! hope this helps!!!

I had a hard time getting the water down too because it just seemed like such a 'nothing' thing to drink. I wasn't a pop addict or anything, actually, I'm shocked now at the lack of liquids in my life. I'd maybe drink one cup of coffee in the morning, half a cup of water to take my meds, maybe a glass of pop or water with dinner and perhaps a cup of tea in the evening. To go from that to 64+ ounces of bland water was daunting, but I did it.

I found that the best method for me (and we all have our own quirky ways to drink water!) is at room temp, from my 32 oz water bottle. The room temp water goes down quicker than ice cold water and I know that I only have to drink 2 (I always drink more, but thinking in terms of 2 makes it easier) bottles to fill my quota.

To each his own, right?

I do just fine if I keep a bottle of water with me. Cups of water just don't work for me. The continual refilling, etc, when I can just squeeze a bottle and let it flow into my mouth.
I often put a slice of lime in, or lemon, or a sprig of mint, particularly in the morning.

For me, water is like exercise. It is just one of those "has to be done" things. In comparison to working out in the heat for 35 minutes, drinking the stuff isn't that rough. My personal drinking style is cool (not cold) or tepid water and chug the stuff down by the quart. The faster in, the better. My point is you have to figure out how to do it best for you. Ice cold, slow, fast, warm, with a lemon juice splash, whatever. Try changing how you are doing it, and perhaps you won't mind that process as much.
