Gingivitis?

Yea I realized that my blood sugar being up could affect my gums. I just don't understand why eating the way I was before Atkins, my sugar was lower and I had no gum problems, and now on Atkins my sugar is up and I am having issues like my gums bleeding and being sore and swollen. I guess I will have to make an appointment to see the doctor also. Im just hoping the doctor and the dentist don't try to talk me out of doing Atkins.

When it happened to me once on this round of dieting, I cut back on suspect foods (tuna, onion and tomato, and table salt for me) and upped my water, also added potassiom and magnesium, and it worked. I think before, it happened because I was eating nothing but meat.

What is acidosis and when would that be a risk or prob.
