| Hopefully not2late or 2big will be around to help you with the carb count of the wine. I've never been too clear on carb counts for wines anyway... However, you don't have to move back to induction. Just cut the wine and see if you start losing again. It may or may not be the wine. I've been in a stall for 4 weeks now...I've actually gained!

| this is why we tell folk to reads the whole book. Read a little further and you will see that stalls are defined as 4 weeks of no pounds NOR inches lost. you are not stalled. You are shedding inches of fat as you morph your body adding muslce mass (which will increase your metabolism and burn more fat for you) and fluid mass. The scale has no way of knowing how your mass has changed since the last time you check the gravitational effect on it all it knows is your total mass is unchanged when the numbers stay the same. This is why Dr Atkins tells us to use a tape measure nd watch the inches of fat being shed. Next you never need to go back to induction unless you are out of ketosis. and then it is only for a few days to get back in ketosis so no don't do induction again just stop drinking the wine. Climb the ladder correctly so you can test real world foods and see how your metabolism reacts to them. When you arrive at rung 5 you can add back your alcohol. there are many websites that will give you carb counts for alcohol based on their listed serving size as different wines have different counts depending on if they are sweet dry and/or the type of grape added.

| If you want to be on the safe side, since no 2 wines are exactly alike, count each ounce as a gram of carbs. There is definitely a difference between fortified red wine and dry white wine, but using the upper limit on possible carb count would be better than under-estimating based on a general count for white wine 4 oz= 0.9g or red, =2g or unspecified 3 1/2 oz = 4.3. This would be easier - 5 oz any wine or champagne=5g. Hard liquor=0. Beer= read label.

| Thanks, all! I DID read the entire book, but unfortunately, ever since high school (way back when) I tend to remember only what catches my attention most - and as a wine lover, that definitely caught my attention!! Haha! I'm going to forego the wine and see how that works for me. I've also noticed I'm not sleeping as well since I added it back, so hopefully I'll sleep better without it too! |
