| If nothing else, at least you admitted it. And, you're back on the wagon, so there's something else. Now that you have this attitude about cheating, you can use it as a deterent in the future. You can say (and prove to yourself) that it's not worth it. That dessert won't be as satisfying as you think, and you know it. So I guess, in conclusion, way to 'fess, and don't do it again.

| NO...... not going to let you get away with calling yourelf weak! A cheat happened, that does not make you weak, there could be 100 different reasons you cheated. The thing to do now is to get to the bottom of why you cheated, so when it happens again you know exactly how to deal with it and avoid it! What were you feeling when you cheated? Sometimes cheats are emotional and based on how you felt at the time. What did you eat prior to cheating? Sometimes a cheat is physical. You may have eaten something prior to the cheat which made you "crave" the item you cheated with. Write it all down, figure out why and then you can figure out how to stop it next time. The best thing is everytime you fight a temptation it makes the next one that much easier to fight. Until the day comes when you can look at a table of illegal foods and see it as something that just does not interest you at all.

| Im going to try and see why I did cheat, when I was so determined... I dont think its any deep emotional reason, just maybe situations and circumstances I find myself in at the time. I know im never going to change things if this keeps happening as your signature says 'cheating is the kiss of death'. I have made the decison that I want to keep with this WOE, but i want to do it properly.... I know the next time I am faced with this problem.... Ill be stronger because I know how it will make me feel if I cheat |

| Maggiedee: Please don't feel so bad about cheating. You've owned up to it and you've probably figured out why it happened. Just get back on track and continue on toward your goals. I also cheated. Why? Craving for some icecream while at McDonald's. And of course I went overboard and got a hot fudge sundae. I don't even need anyone to tell me I did wrong. I've already been properly punished. Five minutes after my moment of weakness I became "violently" ill ! Will I do that again? He!! no. I feel so sick I wish that I could go back in time and decline on the sundae. This just goes to prove that "cheating" is not worth it. |

| The best thing I can say about cheating or the avoidance involves making a mental picture or idea what goal means to you (if you are looking for ideas, check out lovetotest's post: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...d.php?t=34815). Once you know what being at goal means to you, you can evaluate what you are doing against that goal. Some of that involves caring enough to plan in advance for difficult situations or standing one's ground as other attempt to pull you back into the muck. Like lobsters, someone doing something to better themselves typically brings someone else trying to hold them back. One of the homework assignments for past boot camps is to figure out what types of situations are the most stressful and likely to cheat. Do this work or planning ahead of time, and you'll be able to make preparations so that they don't arise or you can handle them when they do. A prepared Atkineer is one so much less likely to fail.
