| Well, as a dear ADBB friend once told me, and don't take this harshly...the more weight you stand to lose...the more it is going to take to lose to see results. I have a hard time with that myself and it is very frustrating. VERY. But 30lbs is alot, so be EXCITED about that. VERY EXCITED!! As far as how long you can stay on induction. I don't think there is a set limit...Dr. Atkins said you can safely stay on it ALOT LONGER THAN TWO WEEKS. And, I know people who have done it for 6 months. So, induct your heart out!! |

| So long as you are meeting all your nutritional & fiber needs with your food and supplements, you should be able to stay on induction a long time. But if you are getting tired of having only the induction list to choose your menu from, you can go to OWL, going up the rungs so you can add other foods like other veggies, dairy and fruit, but continue to loose by keeping your carb total low. You did well to lose 30 # so far - Congratulations! Be prepared, however, for the rate of loss to slow cosiderably if you stay on induction. At some point, many people find they can actually jumpstart stalled weight loss by going onto rung one after a long extended induction

| I read an article about Atkins and induction and it said something about staying on until you'd lost half your weight or until you were within 20 lbs of your goal weight. I'd never get off induction LOL |

| it is up to you how long you stay read chapter 13 of your DR ATKINS MEW DIET REVOLUTION 2002 edition and answer the questions honestly. based on your answers you will know if it is time to move to OWL or not. As long as you have weihgt to lose andyou are healthy you can stay in induction BUT the folk that work all the phases accordiong to Dr Atkins were the ones whio had the lest issues with regaining the weight. what you doing for your mandatory exercise art of your atkins? Happy low carbing

| I stayed on Induction for about 3 months before moving into OWL. I am glad I went this long as it really helped curb my cravings, get me into control of my eating, and get me into the right mindset for making this work. But I grew bored with what I was eating and wanted to add nuts and berries for the additional nutrients and variety of more veggies and some fruit, so I moved on into OWL. I didn't have a big difference in weight loss switching to OWL. I remember my first 50 or so pounds, I didn't notice a big difference in how I looked, but I sure felt tons better. I wasn't measuring because I was too embarrassed to (I wish I had though, I do measure now and it helps), but I could definitely tell by how clothes were fitting and my feet stopped being so swollen. Congrats on your weight loss so far!

| Everyone is different and you do have to answer those questions honestly. I have to stay on induction awhile longer, myself. As soon as I start climbing the rung, I get it into my head that anything goes. I have to stay away from the mentality for awhile. Extended Induction. Yep, that is my name! |
