Default Question for the experienced ones!

Hello! I was at the grocery store today, and they had Atkins Shakes on sale. So, i picked some up... just wondering is it acceptable to have them while on extended induction? Thanks! I just want to make sure before i even try them.

If it was me, I would throw them away. They are a gimmick. imho of course. I don't agree with frankenfoods at all.

save them and use them in cooking later.

I know they reformulated them after the reformulatin in 2003. do they still have sugar alcohols and mythical magical counting noncounting carbs to give them a net effective carb count lower then the total minus the fiber number? if not you might get away with having one with some of your veggies as a meal but not on a regular bases.

Personally, I wouldn't use them because of the actual carb count in them. They subtract the sugar alcohols to make them look lower in Carb. I would be afraid that it would throw me out of ketosis. I have no luck with using sugar alcohols........Dawn

Thank you all for your replies. Thinking that it is Atkins brand that it would be ok, silly me! i only got them because sometimes i am so busy i was thinking for once and a while it would be good in a pinch, but i will save it for later for cooking or something. Thanks!

If you saved your receipt, take them back and buy some fresh veggies that you need now. If you don't have your receipt, I'd still take them back for store credit. No sense having something around the kitchen you can't use right away.

Alright.. I do agree they are not allowed on induction, because of sugar alcohols.. BUT, they work for me. I sometimes have 1 in the morning. They don't seem to slow my weightloss down at all, and they have a lot of vitamins and etc for you. Yes, it's not allowed on a clean induction.. some ppl cannot have sugar alcohols because it plateau's them.. for me, they don't. Anyways.. good luck!
