| happens to me all the time. I'll go a bit with no hunger and eating regular amounts of food and then BAM! I'm starving for two days. Just eat, there's no harm in it - just make sure it's all legal! for me when I track fitday, I find that I usually eat about 1200 calories and the hungry days I end up eating about 1600. not sure why it happens, but it's no big deal.

| Are you actually hungry, or just craving? It helps if you eat a small snack between meals, just to help keep your blood sugar level. It could be that some food is making you hungry too. I stopped eating green beans (they're supposed to be low-glycemic!!)...they ALWAYS made me hungry soon after a meal. Others here have probs with certain foods, which they've now omitted from their meal plans. Just some thoughts, in case they help!

| there can be many reasons for hunger. first drink some water and be sure it isn't thrist then if you are still hungry 20 min later eat and then check your foods sometimes using a different brand or a new improved version will intorduce you to a new ingredient. could be the sweetner as some folk are cephalic responders and just the sweet taste can trigger an insulin surge which drops blood sugar and evokes hunger. could be your body needs more fuel today and is telling you so. The amount of food you eat each day should vary in response to your hunger and that should be influenced by your activities. Being female your insulin levels will fluctuate during the month too along with your hormones. so eat if you really are hungry and just know your Atkins is working

| Ok I've had a big snack and I'm definitely feeling much better. Thanks for the all the help! 2big, I'm going to try to reduce and ultimately remove the sweetners in my diet. I was wondering if maybe I was having a cephalic response - but would it happen suddenly after 3 weeks of this with no other noticeable probs? I'm loving this WOL in large part because of the appetite suppression! I love not even wanting food between meals!

| it would depend on where your blood sugar was before and after you had it you can try it again in a day or two and see. Some times it is hard to know what food it is and that is why food journals are so important. Ce;ery is a trigger food for me. NOT2LATE found out that every brand but one of store bought fresh cheese triggered her.

| Just a hunch I've got - looking at evolution and how with winter pending, animals eat more to prepare for hibernation, migration, or the cold, barren season which must be endured by wildlife, I'm inclined to think we former hunter-gatherers have a bit of the same drive built into us, so the cooler weather makes us hunger. I always seem to eat more when fall gets here.

| Personally, I find that I get really hungry if I eat three bigger meals a day. I also find that those are the days when I still crave sweets. I found that I do much better eating small meals throughout the day but keep my evening meal a regular size. The reason I do this is that I found that I'm more hungry at night when I've slowed down than I am during the day when I'm busy. If I eat a larger meal at night it keeps me full and then I'm not so apt to want to eat close to bed time. Eating several small meals makes me feel like I'm constantly eating and for me, psychologically, I don't feel like I'm being deprived of food like I've felt on all those "diets" I've tried. I also found that when I do feel very hungry, I drink lots of water and I'm usually good. If you get up at a certain time every morning, try figuring a schedule that lets you eat something every couple of hours maybe a slice of cheese or a few slices of pepperoni or a couple slices of green pepper or cucumber with a Tbsp of ranch dressing, etc. |
