| You say you've been 9 weeks in induction....but did you do a clean induction during that time? Did you measure? Did you commit to make this a way of life? Did you exercise and plan your success? You ask if you should start over. I suggest you take a few minutes, make a plan to succeed and follow through. There will always be people who suggest you eat Chinese or Mexican or Italian. There will always be that TOM when you will have the urge to crave certain foods (especially Chocolate)...but the question is what are you going to do about the people, places and things that tempt you? Once you make a serious committment to make this happen ... then you won't let anything or anybody stop you. We are all here for you. You can do it. You will do it. Keep posting and let us help you celebrate success.

| Ditto on Dreams' comments. I also noticed that you didn't make much mention of vegetables. Do you eat your meals reguarly--say every 3-5 hours? You don't have to just eat eggs, there are a variety foods you can eat. Check out Linda's lowcarb website. I don't have the link to her website, but you can google it. How often do you weigh yourself? I'm a scale addict, but when I see the scale go up a pound or two I take into consideration whether I ate salty foods, or exercise and may have retained water, etc. TOM makes me want to eat things that are off plan, but it's like Dream said you have to commit yourself to this woe. That means planning meals ahead of time, eating all of your veggies, counting carbs, moving up the ladder appropriately, etc. It's hard work, but you can do it. Also, moving up the ladder will give you a greater variety of foods you can eat. |

You can do this wants2bthin! We're all here to support you. And, please don't beat yourself up. You're human. Dust yourself off and start again. Be determined, very determined. It's not easy (in the beginning) but it's well worth it the further along you make it.

| Ditto what the others have said. Planning is tremendously important. It pays to always have a high fat legal snack to hand. If a craving hits, you can satisfy it with something on the "allowed" list. It really helps. Stick with it. You can do it!

| You could learn to make yummy low carb Chinese at home with your husband. That way he might more easily learn what is allowable or not on this WOE. My BF loves cooking with me, and he loves what we cook, even though he's not overweight in the least. He usually makes one serving of rice for himself, but I find that I have enough to eat that I don't even miss it. Sometimes the cauliflower "fried rice" is good, too. If you find a recipe that you like, make extra for leftovers, or freeze it, so that you cook once, eat multiple times. Also, and I know this sounds weird, but when I get those sweet cravings, I brush my teeth with one of those kids toothpastes (they have strawberry, bubblegum, watermelon, all kinds of flavors. One company, Colgate, I think, makes a vanilla mint flavor that tastes a lot like candy to me...). Obviously, you don't swallow it, but it helps with the sweet craving, and it makes your mouth feel so clean that you don't really want to eat afterwards. I also like taking a long bath with some of the yummy food scented Bath and Body products. It's relaxing, and when I'm done, the craving has usually passed. Hope this helps, and best wishes to you. Reading the messages throughout this board has really inspired me to stick with it when I feel frustrated.
