| with carbs its not like with calories where the amount u should eat is calculated via height, weight, whatever. 20 or lower is the amount of carbs most of us can eat and get into ketosis easily. i dont quite understand, did u think because u weighed more u could eat more carbs or needed to eat less? that is not what its about here, u just need to get into ketosis and stay there so u lose weight. if u ate too many carbs u'd go out of ketosis and stop losing at one point and if u ate too few carbs it just couldnt be healthy as that would mean u dont eat the veggies u need or would only eat stuff like lettuce which would not give u much in terms of vitamines and all.

| The number of grams of carbohydrates that each individual person can eat without gaining weight is not based on height/weight/age like calorie intake is. The purpose of the ongoing weight loss and premaintenance phases is to find exactly how many grams we can eat safely. Dr. Atkins chose 20g for induction because 20 is sufficiently low enough that anyone, regardless of metabolic resistance level, should be able to get into Ketossis. I believe this is covered more scientifically in the book. I would definitely suggest you get a copy of the 2002 edition of DANDR as understanding the how and why this way of life works is as important to success as knowing how to follow the plan. Best of luck and if you need anything please feel free to give a shout! ~Far la bella figura!
