| As long as you spread it out over a whole day, you can drink all you want. But drinking say, a gallon in 10 minutes would not be a good idea. As a minimum, the rule of thumb is 64 oz plus 8 oz for every 25 lbs you want to lose. So I see you want to lose about 73 lbs. So your minimum would be 64 plus 24 or 88 oz. That's only a minimum, though. Your max is whatever you want it to be. My minimum when I started was 80 oz, but I usually drank over 200 oz per day. No harm done, and I still drink 128 oz or more per day. So no, 144 isn't too much at all.
