You are right - this woe is not lowfat/lowcarb

Where you see people posting menus that look lowfat it is usually when they are saying what they are eating at present and asking for advice on how to change it to lose weight :yikes

I think you should still watch the calorie and fat intake. I haven't stalled (knock on wood) but I make sure I watch my fat and calorie intake. I'm sure it's not healthy to eat high fat foods all day.

This past year I have ate more than my fair share of higher fat meats (ok some chicken too) like sausage, steak, bacon, cream cheese, and deep fat fried things like Wings. Atkins by his definition is a high fat WOE not a high protein as is often miscontrued in the press. The dieticians at large would scoff at a 65% Calories from Fat diet, but that is exactly what I have done for the last 11 months. I don't necessarily watch my Calories, but I now eat until satisfied, which I amazingly recognize now. It isn't the fat that will get me -- it is the cravings from sugary items.

For those concerned about cholesterol and consuming a bunch of red meat, I dropped mine about 50 points to 150 this past year eating it. Be glad you are eating the fat, and just remember eat until you are satisfied. Eating when you aren't hungry isn't going to work on any diet.

Default I love fat!

I don't worry about fat content anymore.
:nod :joy

It is such a relief to stop calorie counting and fat counting,
Those methods of dieting were really shackles to me - and
they didn't help me lose weight.

Personally, I don't look for ways to cut corners on my menus.
My enjoyment matters more to me - and my ability to make
it stick for the rest of my life.

By following Atkins, I think I'm finally giving my body the eating experience it has craved my entire hard core dieting life.

I'm no expert, but I would say don't count the calorie or the fat intake. Watch the CARB intake only and follow all the menu guidelines in the DANDR.

For me, just following the Atkins guidelines IS eating high fat foods
all day, well, every meal, and I LOVE IT! I love it! I love it!
I love it!
