Default Bad day

Today me and the family went out to lunch. We went to BJ's brewery and had pizza and salad. I decided to have a piece of pizza. I guess i've been a little frustrated on the lack of weight i've been losing. My husband was telling me that a co-worker is doing Atkins as well and cheated one day. He noticed that he started losing again. Well tomorrow i'm going to start induction over again and see how that goes. I surprisingly didn't feel sick and bloated afterwards. The pizza wasn't as good as I thought it was going to be either though. Lesson learned. I don't plan on going off though again. I just had to let it out.

Well, my 2 cents are that this could actually help you. Just make sure and get back on the wagon and don't do this too often because it can be a slippery slope.

Some people do a high carb meal once in awhile and it gets them losing again. I am such a carb addict that I don't think that I could control myself though. :help

Good luck!

Here's a huge lesson learned. I gained 1.5 lbs overnight from my cheat. I'm back on day 1 of induction. So much for thinking that I could get my metabolism jump started. Lesson learned!

Hi -- hope you don't mind me butting in here .. but it touches something I have been thinking about. .. Is is possible to put on like 1.5 lbs .. by cheating just with a piece of pizza??

If I read it right you have to lower by 3500 cals to lose 1 lb.

I have tried to find things on the net which do it the other way round .. I presume it would be the same .. 3500 to gain a 1lb ?? is that right ???

and also .. does anyone know HOW LONG it takes for food to actually increase your weight ?? Like if I eat something today .. for absurds sake .. how long does it take to see it on the scales ..

thankx in advance

Jennyxxx

I really don't know. It was a big slice of the Chicago style deep dish pizza. Had one piece at lunch time, one piece at night. I was surprised with the 1.5 weight gain, but it's my own fault. Back to day 1 of induction.

It could be water retention from the salt in the pizza. The best way to get rid of it is by drinking more water. I doubt that you ate 5250 extra calories in the form of two pieces of pizza which made you gain 1.5 real pounds.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Thank you. I was wondering if it was the salt in the pizza as well. I'm upping the water. Thank you all. This board is the best!

By eating your pizza your body is going to hold onto every mosel of carbs and store it this accounts for the gain in weight an average person with full glycogen stores will have about 5-8 lbs of glycogen stores in the body. The 1.5 lbs is probably stores of the glycogen and also water weight. Drink water go for a walk and get those out of your body any your weight will surely go down in about 2-3 days.

I choose not to cheat and I think you will be choosing this as well from the way your mood is.
