It's been 5 days since I quit taking glucosamine and I have lost 5 pounds and am back in ketosis! Maybe there is something to this! Hidden carbs in Glucosamine? Hmmm.

I have been taking glucosamine regularly for the last three months and have steadily lost 20lbs. Looking closer at Glucosamine I found that it is derived from glucose and found this statement on a website. "Although glucosamine may have fewer side effects than NSAIDS for most patients, people who suffer from diabetes should be especially careful when taking this supplement since it is derived from glucose. It is wise to speak to a doctor before use and to check blood sugar more frequently during use". So it could be that you are right to be thoughtful about Glucosamine.

Today I did not take my glucosamine supplement bearing in mind that it is glucose derived. I normally can manage and have been doing so daily a mile walk on the beach. Not today, my joints are really aching and I just couldn't manage the walk. Now today has been quite wet (showers) and I know rain can cause arthritis to hurt, but it seems odd that today I really notice the aches and pains. Tomorrow it is back to the glucosamine.
