Default Can I get all ur carb counts?

for broccoli, green beans, and salad lettuce. My salad lettuce has 2-3 carbs and has 1 gram of sugar (? what the heck ?) and my broccoli and green beans both have 4 grams of carbs with 2 grams of sugar. I dont understand that all - are they pumping sugar into veggies and lettuce now?

From fitday brocolli has 5 carbs, 3 fibre; Green beans Carb 8, fibre 4; lettuce has carb 1 and fibre 1.

I know that many/most veggies have natural sugars in them which would explain the green beans and brocolli, but i'm not sure about the lettuce. Are you using a bagged lettuce that has other veggies in it? maybe purple cabbage etc. (i find many even have shredded carrots in them).

A vegetables and fruits have sugar naturally. What you want to avoid is added sugar. So if you are using canned or frozen vegetables, you need to read the label, particularly the ingredients, to see if they added sugar to the product.

IF you are buying fresh vegetables, sugar is usually not added.

One problem Emo-boy is that with labelled products the manufacturer or packer does special tests (I assume) to get the nutrition info for the particular vegetable they use and fitday uses a general figure.
If you regularly use a particular brand of for example packaged lettuce which has a vastly different count than what fitday has all you have to do is to select a type of lettuce similar to the one you are eating and customise it to the figures the label says.
Then your figures will be accurate for your food intake.

what I do is add custom foods into fitday for everything I buy. If it doesn't have the nutrition breakdown label on it and I can't find a copy on the manufacturer's website I don't get it. This way fitday is more customised to what is actually in my fridge. Of course this means a lot of data entry when I buy something new.
