Default Should I restart?

If you'd read this post by me you'd see what I said about not being able to eat.

This has been for the past few days, in which I've been physically sick trying to eat. I've been at the gym too, and am taking tomorrow off work because I feel to sick and wrecked to move. It's not even lack of appetite- I just feel ill, no matter what I try to eat, and throw up.

So tonight I had one bowl of cereal with milk. It wasn't a craving, it was the only thing I could look at which didn't make me feel nauseous. I don't want junk food, or pizza or anything else, I just needed a bowl of cereal so my stomach would stop turning.

I didn't want to give in but felt that I needed to have something like cereal. It was Crunchy Nut Cornflakes. I have cheated on my induction, but not majorly, and apart from those cheats, it's been a clean four weeks.

I'm not sure what to do now. Tomorrow I am going to sleep and try and feel better and hope that by Thursday I can eat again. In the past five days or so my calorie count hasn't even reached 300, but it isn't deliberate. If I can eat again I'm going to pile on the fats to up my calories without feeling like I'm eating too much.

I need your advice. Should I just carry on, or should I start again right from the very beginning? Starting again is so daunting as I'm a month in and have lost weight, and do like my diet. I'm worried if I start over I'll delay it. Should I carry on as if nothing happened and get back on the wagon? I'm confused. :help

To be honest Atkins is one of very few diets that dont recommend having "cheat" days. In fact a world class body builder wrote a great book "burn the fat, feed the muscle" and he recommends to have at least 1 higher carb/calorie day every 4th day of your diet. It keeps you from going into starvation mode and actually spikes your metabolism. Carbohydrate Addicts diet recommends having 1 full hour a day of cheating - trust me - you will be fine!

it is all going to depend on your mental state. you are posting on the extended induction board so i'm not sure what you think you woud be going back to. you should resume your Atkins as soon as possible. it is interesting that something like the milk didn't make you sick but cream would or high carb crunchy nut flakes wouldn't but low carb crunchie nuts would. you sound like you are having a low blood sugar issues and you are going to just have to suck it up and get some food down. you will have rebound low blood sugar from the cereal very soon so you should plan right now to eat something. Since milk didn't make you nauseous try some cream or cream cheese. if that stays down try a few carbs with a bit of protein and fat. try some broth or cream veggie soup. I love cream of pumpkin and cream of tomato some folk like creamed spinage or brocolli.

Default Hello!

Hope you feel better soon and have an appetite. Maybe you've just got a touch of flu which seems to be going around.

Take care,

Neglible, as well as using protection, I have PCOS and about one period every few years. It did cross my mind, though, to be on the safe side I did a test, not pregnant.

I think I'm just unwell. I'm not used to being physically unwell, I don't really know how to handle it. I don't mind so much about having the cereal now, although this is important to me, I'd suffer a setback if it means I'll get better quicker.

Honey, try eating some yogurt with some active bacterial culture in it. If you can get your hands on some acidopholous (did i spell that right?) that may help too. If you've got some flu or something or your digestive tract is out of whack, the yogurt may help balance that out. the key with it is that the culture is active and listed as such on theingredients list. Hope that helps some, and definitely check in with your doctor. Are you taking your vitamins?
