Default how much cheese?

hi
I'm on my 3rd week of induction and cheese is now my thing! Do any of you know if it's ok to eat cheese at every meal? Or is it ok as long as I stay within 3-4oz? And have any of you experienced stalling from too much cheese? I think I've been eating too much veg so I gained back 3lbs
Without cheese and veg, it seems like I'm starting to run outta no-carb options ack! help pleasse

maybe you should post a daily menu example so we can get a better grasp of what you are eating. you can have cheese with every meal and as a snack as long as you don't go over the 3-4 ozs allotment for the day. if you notice a stall in your weight loss, you may want to cut it down a bit to see if the cheese is the factor though.

how much veggies are you eating? i know from my experiences, i have problems getting veggies in and really have to work on it some days. you are allowed 3 cups salad veggies or 2 cups salad veggies and 1 cup from the "other veggies" list.

You can have cheese at every meal - but you are likely exceeding the 3-4oz limit. (you might be RIGHT on it - depends ont he quanitity on the mozzarella and colby) Also, I have trouble with tomato. I don't know how much tomato soup you are consuming, but that could have a high carb value. And you are not eating enough veggie. You might be running into the problems I had with extended induction too few calories and too low of carbs - from the right places.

Default Re: how much cheese?

from the menu you posted i'd say you were probably ok as far as the cheese goes. as Momma2threegirls said you look to be right on the mark.

the thing that raised an eyebrow for me was you didn't get enough veggies in. you are allowed either 3 cups salad veggies or 2 cups salad veggies and 1 cup "other veggies daily. the broccoli is one of the "other" veggies, you still needed 2 cups salad veggies. salad doesn't mean just lettuce either, there are many others on that list. IE: celery, cucumbers, jicama, mushrooms, peppers, radishes......among others. try to up your veggies and see if that helps. you should spread them out during the day too, not eat them all at once. you could have some celery for a snack maybe a small salad for lunch, another small salad for dinner with a side of green beans as another veggie to go along with a fat and protein.

another thing that i noticed, is that you are eating alot of eggs. don't get me wrong, eggs are a perfectly balanced food to eat on this plan, but i've heard many say they get really burned out on them, me included. so just a little word of caution on that. otherwise, if you can tolerate them they are great. i find that i can only eat a fried or scrambled egg about once a week without them turning my stomach.

oh yeah and the tomato soup, is that canned or homemade? if canned, you might want to check the label. i just looked up the nutritional info for a name brand tomato soup(not mentioning any names) and for a half cup it list 20 carbs and 12 sugars. i'm sure some of those carbs and sugars are
natural from the tomatoes, but it doesn't show the list of ingredients to see if they added any sugar or starches of some sort to thicken the soup.
always be sure to check labels, and if you have to have soup, try to make your own, so you'll know exactly what's in it.

that's my two cents worth, hope it helps.

I cut half a tomato into tiny tiny bits and put lots of ground beef in it, but the fact that tomato has varying carb values depending whether its raw or not is definitely very confusing!
As for the cheese, I think I will cut back...mind you its so hard to stop eating cream cheese! Maybe I'll just stop buying it instead haha.
The veggies is also another very frustrating topic. THis is technically my 3rd week of induction, and since I cheated, I decided to do another week. For the first 2 weeks, I ate a salad with every meal and think I had too much veg which caused me to stall. Now I'm just not sure what to do because I've been at this weight for since my 5th day of induction! I know I'm eating a lot more than I should be but I really can't help it, there are days when I just can't stop eating! (especially if I decided to stay home!) FOr instance, let me give you a run down of today:
Breakfast: steak + oil and vinegar salad
Lunch/ Snack: huge tub of chicken, egg, mozzarella, shrimp mayo salad.
Dinner: 22 pieces of sashimi and steak with 2 pieces of colby cheese + crystal lite
i'm so stuffed. I think i'm a goldfish, I just can't stop eating!

thanks guys

Cheese makes me stall if i eat too much ... i try to keep it to 1-2 oz a day.. but every one is different .. maybe try to NOT eat cheese for a week and see how you weigh in after a week

Let me get this straight . . . you have lost so far 10 pounds of a total 25 you wanted to lose?!?

I dont think you are stalling at all - many people experience weightloss in fits and starts.

Time to start thinking of moving up the OWL carbohydrate ladder and finding your CCLL. With only 15 pounds left to lose you havent got much time before you will be needing to move to the third phase of Atkins!!
