Okay I have been "ketosising" for almost 3 weeks now...in the first week and a half I dropped 6 lbs.
My Goal loss is 105 lbs. Well, I haven't lost anything in over a week. It seems like I keep yo-yoing between 340.9-343.7, I started at 347.9. I'm on the verge of crying every time I weigh myself which is about 3 times a week when the weight has not changed or it has gone up. It has gone up to as far as 346 lbs, which is hardly a change at all. I weigh myself only in the morning, naked after tinkle. I even take my wedding band and engagement ring off, and my glasses.
My hubs has lost 12 lbs...wtf?? He keeps telling me that because it's my TOM that the weight isn't coming off...please tell me that every month it's not going to stop completly. I am still in ketosis and check every other day with the sticks to make sure.
I don't expect the weight to "fly" off my body, but after reading so many stories on here I would have expected it to go a little faster or not stop completly.
I AM doing everything right. We have the book and are very strict with following. I drink 100-115 ounces of water a day. I get my veggies, my fat, my meat...everything down to the vitamin.
I'm not going to give up, because this is my last hope. I just need some reasurrance that this is just a weird blip and it probably wont keep happening. I understand that at times weight is going to stop but I loose in measurements, I didn't measure...partly because I don't own a tape measure and partly because I know I'd be measuring all the time, so I saved myself some time and energy by not measuring and just trying on a tight pair of pants every now and then. The pants are still tight. Though not as "oh my god it's pinching my fat" kinda tight, but still "I wouldn't wear these in public if anyone paid me because they are so tight" kinda tight.
Now I don't wanna sound whinny, which has probably already happened.

Poor Tink -- I hear ya. I read about everyone losing 20 pounds in the first month and I wonder what I am doing wrong. I did great for 3 weeks, everything by the book, and lost 3 or 4 pounds. So I got frustrated and ate junk and guess what---didn't lose a single pound the next week. duh!! Anyway, stick to it and we will be so happy in a year!!

Relax and take your plateau in stride. Keep with the diet. Up some exercise and up water consumption. The diet works ... Please also post exactly what you are eating here and we can take a further look.

Exercise will also cause the scale not to move, or to move up slightly. Because with exercise, you are replacing fat with muscle, and well, muscle does weigh more than fat.

Hate to say it, but your hubby is right. TOM messes with the best and fastest losing of all of us. I know during that week I'm ok, but the week after I retain EVERYTHING!!! So when I drink 115 ounces of water, I hold ALL of it until the week after.. Sucks, but part of being a woman

As long as you are still in ketosis, and feel good and like your energy is still up, the rest will happen in time. Some of us just have a slower metabolism and a greater resistance to weight loss <takes a bow >

If you're doing everything by the book and strictly, it will come. What I've learned is you have nothing to lose by staying on track. GREAT JOB so far!!!!

Ok... I have so been right where you are! I too am in extended induction and around weeks 3-5 I barely saw any losses on the scale. I stuck with it though and saw major loss in inches... 11 inches in week 3! After a few weeks I started losing several pounds each week and that is where I have been ever since. I think your body does a lot of adjusting during weeks 3-5 but if you just keep at it, it will show rewards! There is something called Post induction Stall Syndrome... you can do a search for it on this board, its really pretty common Good luck! You are doing great so far!

BTW... are you exercising? That could also be a factor. I would really really highly suggest that you buy a tape measure and get some measurements. It is a great motivator... I only measure a couple times a month because Ilove seeing those big losses

I agree, the tape measure is what is keeping me from getting discouraged. I didn't lose a darn pound in one week but then measured. I had lost 6.5 inches total.

Keep it up, you will see the results.

I wish I had your dedication. I read your blog and it is great that you list everything you eat. I think that is very important. I don't do it, but I DO think it is important and takes a lot of dedication. I am eating a lot of the same foods you list but have been eating Atkins bars for snacks when I need a sweet treat. Thanks to you, I have decided NOT to buy any more. I think you are right, they are crap. They taste good, but should not be used as a weight loss product. I like the celery w/cream cheese snack ideal. I will use that instead of the bars. And after 3 1/2 weeks, I am getting tired of eggs so am going to try the mock danish. You have given me hope. I have only lost about 6 pounds so am sad but I was doing WW for several months and had lost a little there and my body didn't shed any water weight because I have been drinking at least a gallon of water a day while doing WW. I have to keep telling myself that as long as I don't quit, I will some day lose the other 45 pounds that need to come off. Anyhoo (haha) just wanted to let you know that your blog has helped me and given me hope. Thanks!! d
