| The thing that made me decide not to indulge till I was closer to my goal weight was that the body will use alcohol as a preferred fuel and might store any other stuff like the fat/protein/carbs you are eating as fat!! Maybe you need to move into OWL now so alcohol becomes a 'legal' menu item In fact, looking at your stats I can't see any reason for you to stay on an extended induction now anyway. If you want to climb the carb ladder to discover your CCLL and see if you have any trigger foods before you are at premaintenance phase (which Dr Atkins told us to move to when we have 5-10 pounds left to lose) you don't have an awful lot of time.

| I can only say that I can relate. We know that we should give it up for at least the induction phase. But, it's hard to do. Not much of an answer, but there it is!

| I have exactly the same problem. I even switched from red wine to a bacadi and coke at night, but it just makes me stall. I dont put on weight, i just dont loose anymore. Its my evening way to relax after a stressful day. If anyone finds a drink that does not put weight loss on hold, please post!! |

| Oh man can I relate. I used to love a rum & coke in the evenings, then switched to diet coke, but after being diagnosed with diabetes I gave up alcohol altogether. I haven't had a drink in 2 years, but there are days I really miss it. |

| I think my post yesterday really helped. I think I just needed to 'come clean' about my struggle. It really helped me stay focused last night and not bother indulging in a drink with or after dinner. I think journaling (or posting in this case) the things you are having a tough time with can help your mind work through it. Anyway, I feel great this morning about and it am hoping to continue this way! |

| Oh - and yes, I have decided to go ahead and move forward to OWL. I think it is an important step and thanks for the 'two cents'! |
