I'm a new Fitday user, so I might be overlooking something. It doesn't break out fiber content for individual food items you add to your log, but it apparently still tracks it. If you look at the calorie summary below the log, you can see fiber content as a line item. From there you can do the usual subtraction from total carbs. If you want to know net carbs for an individual item, you can check the summary before and after adding it to the log and then do the math.

1 cup of iceberg lettuce has .4 net carbs according to Dr Atkins Carbohydrate Gram Counter 2002. If you want lower net carb ruffage Chinese cabbage has 0 net carbs. Norm

| I dont think there is any benefit in trying to choose the least carby vegetables on induciton. By doing so you are making it difficult to stick to the rule of induction #3 Quote:
For example - 3 cups of lettuce at 0.4 net carbs per cup = 1.2 carbs. To have more than half of your carbs from veg means you could only allow yourself one large egg (0.6 net carbs) and no cheese or cream or sweetener!! So if you chose say one cup of chopped peppers (approx 6 net carbs), one of sliced cucumbers (approx 2 net carbs) plus one cup of chopped onions (8 net carbs) this would amount to 16.4 net carbs, leaving 3.6 net carbs to have as maybe 2 ounces of cheese and a few eggs in your menu. Having only 1/2 cup of onions plus 1/2 cup broccolli as your 1-cup veg would make about 13.5 net carbs and let you have a few sweeteners plus a little cream too. Remember, Atkins is not a 'no carb' way of eating!

I don't usually even eat iceberg lettuce but was at friends. When I put it into fitdat it came up as 3.3 for 2 cups of lettuce.I knew this was not accurate but just wanted to know the exact. THANK-YOU for your replies

You can customize foods in FitDay. For example, I created an entry for Splenda Packte, 1 gram.. 1 gram carbohydrate. I've recreated all induction vegetables to show net carbs per the Atkins website (click here). If you're counting net carbs, remember it is only 12 to 15 Net Carbs daily. I track ALL CARBS, including those in lemon juice, lime juice, and eggs. If you need help customizing FitDay for PC, send me a private message.
