Default induction question?

hi i started atkins on march 2008 weighting 203 lbs my current weigth is 153 i cheated sometimes now i'm starting induction again because i want to get to 140 before moving on to the next phase. my height is 5'4. my question is should i do induction for 2 weeks or longer? my goal weight is 135

Firstly, congratulations on losing those 50 excess pounds already

Really it is not acting in accordance with Dr Atkins plan to stay on induction till you are only 5 pounds from your goal. This would not allow you the time to explore the second (main weightloss) phase of Atkins, ongoing weightloss aka OWL and discover what level of carbs you can still lose weight at (your CCLL - critical carbohydrate level for losing) as well as any food triggers.

Dr Atkins suggested we should have completed OWL and start on the third phase of Atkins (premaintenance) when we have 5-10 pounds to lose.

If you have been eating off induction for a while then you would need to do the 2 weeks only on induction levels of carbs then move to OWL.

If you have been eating induction levels till now but maybe straying off plan now and then with the odd bite/meal then I would suggest returning to strict induction only till you get back into ketosis then moving to OWL.
