| You have to remember that everyone's body is different and your weightloss can slow as you lose more weight which means it is important that you exercise along with eating right. Don't forget to take measurements of your body. Your health is not just a number on the scale, you also keep track of how many inches you have lost to keep things in perspective. Weight loss can slow a bit after introduction.

| Ditto ceemarie on everything! Even though I was smaller to start with, I expected to only lose about 5 pounds during induction. I lost 11 and I can tell that the weight loss is slowing way down so I try not to make goals with certain dates to reach them by. I just take the losses as they come. I'm almost 5 weeks in and I have lost about 13.

| Be careful with unrealistic expectations! I lost a lot in the beginning but then it slowed to about 5 lbs per week. I've gotten off track and am up about 15 lbs, but restarting induction (yesterday). Hang in there and remember slow and steady is best! Maybe you'll lose faster than i did but don't feel bad if your weight loss slows! You're still heading in the right direction! Hang in there! Keep up the good work! liz |

| I figured out pretty early on that setting goals with exact dates is frustrating and discouraging. I threw it right out the window. Most teachers of goal setting say that goals must be time specific, but it just doesn't work when trying to lose weight. Save yourself the heartache! |

| You sound very upbeat. I started the program have been on extendend induction Sept 13 and have stayed on induction. To date I have only lost 14lbs, but have lost inches in various places. My husband says I am shrinking which is supportive but I would like to scale number to decrease more rapidly. Goals are great if they keep you focused and motivated. Just don't get too shaken if they don't adhere to your calculations. Just keep following the program consistently. I am going to increase my treadmill time and see if I shake up my snail like metabolism. Best wishes and much luck to you!

| Yeah man you may or may not be able to reach that. Everyone loses in the beginning and then you as you get lower weight, you start to loss small amounts or none at all. If you truly want to get to your goal, start working hard exercising and never cheat yourself.

| I agree with pretty much everything everyone is saying in the beginning it's like Wow and then things start to slow down. When I started 09/08/08 I weighed about 164 and lost 14 pounds...how exciting!!! Three weeks into it I weighed 147 so in total 17 lbs lost so of course I was loving this diet but then my birthday came and I totally used it as an excuse to eat whatever I wanted. As I ate with such pleasure I'd say tomorrow I'm right back on nope it never happened and I gained 10 lbs back in about a month in a half cause Halloween rolled around right after. But pictures of myself with the kids did me in and I restarted on Nov.13th and to date have lost exactly what I gained so I'm back to 147 and have no intention of ruining it for myself. Oh yeah and I did it in 11 days . But again everyone is different so just keep going you'll be fine so long as u stay focused good luck to ya!! SW 164 RSW157 CW147 GW120 |

| I started on Aug 1st at 363. I thought I knew what I was doing, but I had not read the book. I had been eating cashews (my fave!) fried chicken (can't be that many carbs right?), etc. I had reached a stall, and thought that something must be wrong. Well it was. It was what I was eating. Not only that, but how much I was eating. I was eating about 11 or 12 eggs everyday, along with one whole stick of butter, some kind of meat daily, etc. I had a bunch of calories just there, but I was also adding cashews, the occasional fried chicken meal, sugar free russel stover's candy, etc. I was taking in a lot of stuff daily, but I was still losing. Well, I began to read the book, and recognized the error of my ways. I realized that if I had been more disciplined, I could have been farther along. I am also doing a lot of cardio 5 or 6 days a week. I feel great! But... I had to break through, so I committed to re-start induction and go 2 weeks solid and strict from 18 Dec-1 Jan. I made it through Christmas dinner at my parents house fine, didn't slip at all (all though I did eat 10 deviled eggs, so the equivalent of 5 eggs in one meal, along with a garden salad, cucumbers and roast!) I measured myself, weighed, and I am hoping to see some more good stuff on the 1st. I am already down 5 lbs, don't know what the measurements are yet. So, all in all, I think that I have proven this nutritional approach at least to myself. I didn't know what I was doing and still managed to lose weight due to lipolysis and the wonders of a high fat diet! I have lost 77 lbs so far. I have at least 86 left to go. I will probably stay on this strict induction until I am halfway there. Then I will start my progression throught the stages. I am so excited! The more I read of the book, the more I wonder why everyone is not changing their lives with this information! OK... I know this was extremely long for a reply, but I am a long winded-guy! Sorry! |
