| Hi Babak, alcohol is not allowed on induction. It is totally your choice but you need to ask yourself is it really worth it?! Your body will burn the alcohol before the fat so all your hard work and efforts for this week will be kinda ruined. I know that some on the board have a tipple and then plan to drink lots of water and exercise hard the next day - it depends on how you really feel about it I suppose! I class it as cheating!!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't had anything but water in 14 weeks and for me that is a huge achievement because I love, no adore wine. But feeling healthier, fitter and wearing a wider range of gorgeous clothes is, at the moment, more important to me. Its been hard - I am a very social girl and have been in quite a few situations where I could have given in, but my inner voice says "it's cheating!" and, well it is! Your call, we cannot make your mind up for you. But it is cheating, its not allowed and your weight loss will be delayed. If you have a drink... whatelse may you find yourself "just having one of"?!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good luck! Janie x |

| I guess you need to decide if you want the booze more than the weight loss. It won't cause you to gain but could stall you for a week. I know from experience that if I drink wine it will slow my weight loss. If you do decide to drink (and I do occassionally) then spirits and carb free mixers are best as they are zero carbs. Your body will burn the alcohol for a fuel instead of fat and then return to fat burning again x |

| I myself have been known to enjoy a few low-carb beers every once in a while, and not have it affect my progress. In fact I sometimes indulge in a glass of wine or two when my drinking buddies and I get together, and am still losing at a rapid rate. Just my own personal experience.

| If you stand firm and don't drink alcohol until you get to the alcohol rung, you won't regret it. I'm sure your friend will understand...

| Well, everyone disagrees with me. Sorry about that. I just enjoy a cocktail every now and then, and it doesn't seem to be a problem with me.

| Actually, I don't disagree with you - I do drink but knows it does slow weight loss for me. Life goes on though and you take your choices and mine is also to drink socially from time to time. x |

| Oops! Hope my previous post didn't sound snotty. Rereading it, it kind of does to me. Sometimes what you mean to say doesn't come out right when you put it on the screen.
