The calorie restricted diet is called just that or starvation diet. I have done alot of reading on this and studies seem to show that you live longer, fight off disease and stay more youthful. They seem to want to cut calories 20-40%. I was reading up on this about half a year ago and thought I would like to try it for the health benefits but weight loss isn't the reason for the diet and they don't want you losing more than 5 pounds in a month. So being that I had at least 100 pounds to lose I thought I should get that off before going any further. Since then I have lost 59 pounds and started doing more reading about it. Once looking into it further it seems like I'm not to far off of the diet already. They seem to eat yogurt but I don't and maybe a few other things but as far as the amount of calories I think I'm pretty close to 20-40% under 2500 calories and certianly under whatever I was pigging out on before this WOL. Atkins will always be my way of life but I was wondering if I could merge the two diets in a way. | |
