| You can theoretically stay in induction a while. Atkins mentions six months as a maximum. But it is usually not good to try to lose all your weight like this. You have learned nothing about your food tolerances and there is about a 110% chance that you will regain the weight in no time. Move up the ladder and add new foods is very important for continued success. Also many people are very excited for the pounds they lose in induction and think that if they only stay there, they will do good. But the fact is that most of the successful members here on ADBB lost a majority of their weight on OWL. Hope that that helped.
