| Thing is that muscles do not turn into fat. You can't do that. You cannot change one type of body cells into another.. That woman was probably eating more, exercising less or not at all, and she tried to find a scapegoat for her issue. It's easier to blame someone else, even if it is the "evil" fat trying to lurk into our body and make us 3 sizes larger without us realizing it!! Now I have to be careful of these little sneaky B******s, maybe hiding under my bed or something lol |

| Scribbler is right - muscle does not turn into fat, but we can lose muscle while gaining fat as well as what we hope to do by following Atkins - lose fat and build muscle!! Many of our members have testified to this by realising they can now wear smaller clothes at a weight that previously they wore larger sizes. We even had one member who had her body fat % measured with the 'dunk tank' method and realised she was at too low a percentage of fat for her health even though she was still pounds away from her 'goal weight' This is one reason it is good not to concentrate on reaching some magic scales number but look for body shape changes instead.

| That is a good point and you're right - muscle does not become fat but what I was really excited about was what Elizellen is talking about - the fact that it's less about the scale number and more about the measurements and what is actually in your body - is it fat or muscle? Have a great day!
