Default New 2005 induction menu on Atkins.com question

My dad was starting up Atkins again and he told me about this "new 2005 14 day induction menu" on Atkins.com.... I looked it over and it looks a little questionable ensive since most days the net carb count is over 20 grams. What do you guys think? Did I miss some news about the Atkins WOL that allows this? It looks like a low-fat/low carb mix and I thought that was a no-no for induction. Just want to know your thoughts on this.

I didn't examine it closely, but I could see right away they are pushing their frankenfoods. Bread is not acceptable for induction according to the book, but there it is for breakfast on Day 1. The website is getting really bad about straying from the priciples laid down in the book so they can sell their products and make a profit. It's really sad. The best way to do Induction is very simple: if it's not on the Acceptable Foods List (or all of its ingredients) don't eat it!

Isn't that something? That's actually the first time I've been to the Atkins website and viewed the menus. (I just read the book) and I can't believe the induction menu. I wonder if Dr. Atkins is rolling over in his grave.

wow... I think if I were to do that menu, I'd gain weight rather than lose. It does amuse me though how everyday they want you to eat something name brand

Default Something I don't understand...

In the book in the sample menu for induction, Dr. Atkins suggests the shakes, bran crackers, and something else--can't remember right now. I don't think he was that against the foods that his company makes.

I just came from the site and i was so mad. do you know how many people want to lose weight.
Dr. Atkins wrote something that works now they are varieting it. I swear id be so confused had i not done this before. I feel bad for newbies who will visit the site. They will just get frustrated.
I just sent them an email telling them to stick to what was written by atkins himself.
Trying squeeze the money out they are so money hungry.

Yeah Dr Atkins said the Atkins foods were ok, but not for induction as he said to use unprocessed natural whole foods. Plus remember when the last book came out, most of the foods now on offer at atkins.com didn't exist.

Saying you can have multi-grain bread on day 1 of induction just seems to me completely silly. Sure the carb count may be low, but whole grains don't get added in til the last rung of OWL, and the reason for that is their higher GI levels which can affect some people with cravings and stall weight loss.

I could pretty much rant on all day about their menu suggestions but I won't. No wonder people get so confused over how to do Atkins.

It saddens me that they've gotten so contradictory between the book and the website. :no It's like the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing.

Best thing to do is just stick to everything as laid out in DANDR, because we know for a fact that it works, right folks?

When you have the Rules of Induction and the Acceptable Foods list straight in your head, you are set, and you can recognize when a food choice is a good one or not.

They have some awesome recipes there though, but I notice some that say Induction Safe have bake mix in them...so there ya go..
But some are really good, and it's worth looking through.
