| Depends on your approach to Atkins, I suppose. When I was on Induction and moved on to OWL, I followed Dr. Atkins plan rather than the corporate entity which was trying to sell more chemicals. I, as many others on this board, subscribe to "clean induction" which is eating only those foods listed on the Acceptable Food List. A chocolate Atkins shake contains the following: Water, milk protein concentrate, sunflower oil, soy protein isolate, cocoa powder (processed with alkali), natural and artificial flavors, cellulose gel, magnesium phosphate, calcium phosphate, potassium citrate, sodium hexametaphosphate, cellulose gum, sucralose, carrageenan, vitamin mineral mix (zinc gluconate, ferric orthophosphate, D-L alpha tocopheryl acetate, niacinmide, maganese gluconate, maltodextrin, D-calcium pantothenate, beta carotene, pyridoxzine hydrochloride, thiamin hydrochlorid Milk protein concentrate isn't listed on the Acceptable Food List and many of the chemicals aren't my cup of tea.</SPAN>

| I am no expert so take whatever I say with a grain of salt.. but if you managed to lose 100lbs by using one shake for one meal, I would go for it! If you find you aren't losing as much weight, stop drinking them and see what happens. That's what I would do!

| I think I would also think about how you are going to keep th weight off. If you get into the habit of convenience like that you may not get the long term benefits of eating real food. We should get some vegetables in at breakfast or at least lunch and get into habits of dealing with healthy real food for the long term benefits.

| Thank you all for your feed back. Back when I did atkins before I never drank the already made shakes ( I think they are kinda nasty )...back then they had the mix you put in water. Maybe it was different/better, unfortantely they discontinued the mix. SO I decided I am not going to take a chance in stalling or hindering my weight loss. I will just have to try something else... Thanks again! |
